Name: Gawain Cyndwrig (Anglicized as "Gavin Kendrick") (He's Welsh - )
Nicknames: Butterfly Boy (Tulia), Kid (Lukas/Angel)), Bookworm (Lukas), Shorty (Oddie)

Year: Fourth Year
Birthdate: March 15
Height: 5' 5.5" (grew about 2.5 inches since last year)
Weight: 120 lbs
Personality:
Outside of class, Gawain is a surly and awkward boy. He is very self-conscious about his voice, which is starting to crack because puberty, so he talks quietly (unless he gets pissed off). He is a burgeoning deadpan snarker, though his wit sometimes misses its mark. In class, he comes off as something of a teacher's pet. He is an exceptionally diligent listener and active participant in all his courses, but he tends to be very lax with completing his homework. He takes notes in his textbooks and points out where they're wrong or only partially correct. He is a dutiful follower of the rules when he agrees with the rules, and remorelessly flouts any rules he disagrees with/finds stupid. He does not like to be touched. Not even for a manly hug, handshake, or brofist. He doesn't like crowds for this reason. He has a few people he's close with, but has difficulty making new friends unless someone introduces him to a new person. He writes letters to his parents (although the letters are always addressed to his mother) every month and letters to his muggle friends every other week. He suspects that his attachment to the muggle world is preventing him from making new friends at Hogwarts. He has an analytical mind, but doesn't often let it show. Even so, he can be amazingly dense about the effects his words have on others.
Brief History:
Gawain grew up in Swansea, Wales with his father (pure-blood) and his mother (muggle-born). He speaks both Welsh & English but prefers using English. When he is very angry, he will curse in Welsh. The Cyndwrigs are not a wealthy family, but they live comfortably because of their frugality. They with very few frills. As a young boy, Gawain scared his parents because he developed magic late. Until his 11th birthday, he attended public school where he made a few close Muggle friends, and many acquaintances. He still keeps in close contact with his friends and parents by letter.

Wand: White fir. 11.5 inches long, moderately stiff. Griffin tail hair core.
Patronous: Badger (does not currently have the skill to make a corporeal patronus)
Sexuality: He's about 30% sure that girls have cooties, but he's willing to give them a chance. Not interested in a relationship until he can work past his issues with touching people.
Likes:
-broomstickers (better known as flying)
-drawing (and thinks he 's good at it, but he has all the skill of...well... a 14-year-old)
-eating & cooking new foods
-reading
-singing along to music (but don't expect him to ever admit that ever) -arguing
Dislikes:
-stupid people, people who say stupid things, and stupid rules
-tasks that stifle creativity
-spicy foods
-things that don't make sense (for example, if he is in a debate with someone, he really hates it if they don't use good logic to support their arguments.)

-He wants to be a beater on the Quidditch team, but doesn't have any natural talent for the sport. He's been working his butt off for try outs.

-He is the Hogwarts equivalent of a high school student that doesn't use his locker. He pretty much carries all his stuff with him to all his classes. Needless to say, his book bag is heavy.
-The Sorting Hat wasn't sure whether to put him in Ravenclaw or Gryffindor.
-His fourth year course load is thus: Astronomy, Charms, Potions, Transfiguration, History of Magic, Herbology, DAtDA, Ancient Runes [elective], Arithmancy [elective]
