Because I'm so stoked about Ichigo's new form wondering of course Isshin should've done it too sometime before since he knew all about this technique. I'm not sure what Engetsu's reiatsu look like, this is only a conceptual "what if" drawing.

I hope we get to see his Final Getsuga Tensho in a flashback episode sometime soon. I have a sneaking suspicion that is how he lost his own Shinigami powers and resorted to living as a human in the World of the Living.

Random Godmode Antagonist: (thinking) "Nani? his reiatsu...disappeared!O.O"
Getsuga Isshin: "when I used this technique...I will lose all of my powers. So...GOOOOOOOOOOOOOODBBYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEE!!!" *double drop kick*

okay okay everyone knows as stated in the show and manga ichigo possess unfathomable amounts of power so vast it leaks out, so since he initialy got his shinigami power from his dad(zanpaktou's are almost the exact same and same tecnique) his father's power must be also that vast to leak...well im sure his dad did use the final getsuga and lost his power but the whole spirtual leak him and ichigo have probaly built back up and brought his powers back..the same might happen to ichigo

But Isshin is apparently a fully-trained Shinigami. So he would know how to seal and control his reiatsu, a technique Ichigo has not been taught.

I mean say Isshin did do the Final Getsuga Tensho(how he lost his powers in the first place), makes sense that he would live with the humans thinking they were gone forever, only for him to somehow, with the help of Urahara no doubt, get them back when the arrancar appeared.
And obviously Ichigo is gonna get some kind of power back...
Anyone else ever wonder and wanna see what Ichigo would look like with the power of the Hogyoku?

My assumption is this is how Isshin lost his powers in the first place. He used it for some reason and then left Soul Society to either start a family or because he felt he was useless now. Regardless the reason why he used it, Isshin proves his powers aren't gone forever, but it takes years for them to regenerate. Hence, Ichigo will eventually get his power back. Anyone sensing a time skip coming on?

Pretty cool idea. And i've gotta say, i've been wondering it too. Since Isshin knew about this sh*t all along, why hasn't he done it?
But why, why, WHY! Does using Engetsu have to take all of Ichigo's shinigami powers!
