Sorry I took so long to reply... had my children home for holidays which set me back on my work which in turn affected my quality DA time
It's really tricky turning something white to black and more so in reverse. I use lots of layering the first few I would make "multiply" and then reduce its saturation to 0 or very close to 0 and also adjusted the light and contrast. Dropping both back to almost all the way. Keep duplicating the layers until you start getting a darker shade happening. Depending on the fabric and how it was photographed you might need to duplicate one more layer and change its setting from multiply to soft screen (possibly evening reducing it opacity). This might bring up a little contrast in the folds of the fabric.
It really depends on the image... just keep working the layers. Hope that helps?

I did and she's quite a model/photographer/make-up artist. The mod and surreal stuff isn't really my cup of tea put her gothic stuff is superb. Thank you for sending me her way.
