awesome shot, the focus is great and the seperation from the background is really great. too bad the bird didn't fill up more of the frame.

I always try to get closer
sometimes it just impossible

(especially when the next seat in the car is already taken by another keen photographer )

true. you always need just that little bit more reach in focal length when shooting wildlife.

Like today
I was on the other side of a cliff where I was able to see a vulture with his baby voluture near her
500mm was far from enough

I debt that even a 1200mm will be enough since it's impossible to get any closer (to dangerous for the nesting process that is the first in the last 54 years !!!)

thing this would be enough though 1200mm + 2x teleconverter + 1.6x on a DSLR, thats 3840mm f/8.

F11
since it's F5.6

You never forget such a thing when you starts to drool like an alpine spring when you see that

You were talking about Canon's 1200mm
it's F5.6

btw, here is the vulture : [link]

as can notice, it's way crap by quality, but very important for the National Parks Authority

yes, there are always those situations where its impossible. thats pretty cool though, that you got to see such a thing.

He/she really keeps on popping up everywhere ! Lovely shot. I especially like the blankness of the background and the simplicity of the post that the bird is standing on!

Just a routine
we been sitting in the car waiting for Bee-Eaters and he was just flying all over the place, catching food and coming back to the same spot every time
