okay, I'll deconstruct this argument.
"NO they really do suck!!!" That is an OPINION. There is no hard evidence that they do suck (which, when you think about it, why are most insults sex-related? then again, I won't delve into that. because that's off topic.) either way, it's fine to have opinions, and it's fine if your polite with them, but acting like this is just rude...
"like giving evolutions and pre evolutions to the 1st and second gen!!!" well, what some people won't admit, was that some of those evolutions were NEEDED. for example, murkrow was just plain awful, and it needed something to boost it's terrible stats. honchkrow was that answer. leafeon and eevee have a similar story. eevee needed something physical on it's side because flareon, in my own opinion, just wasn't cutting it as far as physical attacking went. I can also say that togekiss and frosslass are in the same pool. on the other hand, we have evos like gallade and porygon-Z, who are far different than their pre-evos. meaning that while there is porygon-Z, porygon 2 is still a great pokemon, with trace and better defenses. now I will admit that some evo's were a little... tripe. (IE, magnetzone, rhyphadon *excuse my bad spelling...*, and probopass *but EVERYONE has a universal hatred for him, so... yeah. XD*), but as I stated, others have definitely proven themselves.

I'm obviously assuming your talking about the beaver, but I'll cover all of them.
bidoof: the fanon seems to widley hate this guy. but that's just because they can't get past appearances. look past the train wreck of a face, and you'll find two awesome abilities, simple and unaware. simple doubles all stat boosts, and unaware ignores the opponents own stat boosts, two very handy things to have! and super fang's just awesome anyway. XD
startly: well, when it becomes staraptor, it gets 2 things that most of the other starter birds miss out on, brave bird and close combat. 2 utterly awesome moves, and the latter with ALMOST no drawbacks!
as for the other 2, I will admit that kickritune sucks, and that shinx is a popularity whore, but then again, I see mew and shiny umbreon as PW's too.

hey, don't diss the rotom forms. Great blend of defense and special attack, a cool typing (ghost/electric? HECK YEAH!), and 4 out of 5 of the moves it gets are great! (air cutter being the odd man out.), either way, don't flame it until you've tried it.
"and all the legendary pokemon they came out with theirs like more than 40!!" actually, there are only 35 TOTAL. at least I think... while I WILL admit that some legendaries are kinda worthless (regigias, unless your talking about double battles.) however, some of them, like cresellia and hetarian, are just plain awesome, once you get past the fact that they aren't involved in the main story.
either way, I'm not saying that your OPINION is wrong, I'm just saying that you should be a little less closed-minded about the 4th gen. while the 4th gen has it's faults, I admit that, but it also has it's strengths, which your nostalgia filtration systems overlook in favor for a simpler stile.
then again, you may be looking at it from an anime standpoint, in that case, I honestly have nothing to say, because I have not watched the anime, and thus, can't form an opinion on it.

but anyways that ain't a wall of text this is!!! (a pair of explanations of why typhlosion is the best to a non believing person)
i could write a whole new page but i will use some older discussions to ''inform'' you as its contents apply to our dispute!
heres from a time i had to explain to a person how typhlosion is better than blaziken (and the rest)! its kinda old so some of the information is not as up to date and/or now considered incorrect
first you can't base facts off the game because in the game they make it fair for every pokemon(example the ability to easily defeat mewtwo)
for starters i will just give you the simple facts
typhlosion is pure fire type and he is the only one to have the ability to control fire and heat any way he wants so he already has more control than blaze does and the fact that ty can use eruption already pretty much eliminates your chances of surviving
now blaze is of the bird type which means he is like a birds as in he has hollow bones which makes him light weight (half the weight of typhlosion) thus the ability to jump high but being a bird is his down fall because even though he is of fighting type he can't take fighting damage because of his body structure
now ty is faster than blaze will ever be and combine that with ty's bigger weight and greater strength he could easily take blaze down without even using any special attacks
oh i almost forgot! since ty can control fire and heat in anyway he wants with his body also mean he can withstand any fire attack!!! rendering blazes fire attacks useless!!!!
so seeing as you look like a doubter i will give you my quick spiel on why typhlosion is the best!!!

alright where to begin well like you i my favorite game was and still is sliver and since i love fire literally i chose cyndaquil and well a few evolutions and 250 hours later he kind of grew on me. anyways like my friends i kind of gave up on pokemon after the second gen but i sill loved typhlosion but it wasnt until about five years later aka this summer just after i turned seventeen and i busted out silver just for the hell of it and i couldn't believe just how much i loved him then after i viewed all the new pokemon i knew typhlosion was the best and this is why. first i will start off physically and i will compare him to the other fire starters because a lot of other people do. first physically he is similar in size and shape to humans and he's large bodied and big boned in appearance an he looks kinda like a badger and badgers are my favorite animal. his colors and shape are nice and he looks so beautiful thats right i said beautiful. ok now for personality i like the fact that he very timid even though he looks like he's going to kick your ass they seem to keep to themselves and the fact that they are extremely loyal i mean they would risk there life for you. the fact that they can be so powerful and yet so gentile. alright now for the comparisons well people say theres other pokemon like that and i know but there none as strong as him and still have that kind of personality and the fact that he is pure fire type enables him to do other things that most other fire types cant do and with him being fire type which i believe is strongest type matched with the fact that he's pure fire type leads me to assume that he is one of if not the strongest pokemon of all. now people are going to argue and say that no he isn't because look at his stats for the game there only ok but not great. but the thing is it's just a game i which a pokemons stats made by one what generation they are two what moves they can do three they on purpose they make all of there stats relatively the same so as not to make one individual so much better than the rest and so the newest generation gets most of the attention. now if someone still disagrees with me i put it this way for instance look at mewtwo in the movie he is basically unstoppable but in the game almost anyone can beat him and thats the same thing with typhlosion. alright now for if you had one in real pokemon world the reason why he probably is the best (which this why they don't use him in the series). this is also why he is better than the other fire starters. first off its the way he physically built compared too the others alright his body is naturally built strong and the fact that all pokemons power is derived from there physical strength means that he is strong to begin with but we all know that but this is where it gets good. this why i dont like the other fire starters as much and i will tell you why starting with charizard ok yeah he's strong right away but once you have a charizard thats about all the stronger he's going to get and the reason he is strong right away is because of his size and he cant make himself bigger so that is why he cant get stronger and since he isn't fighting type he's at a disadvantage and what i mean is you need to be able to physically fight in order to beat disadvantage types now people will say typhlosion isn't fighting type well technically he ain't but honestly you really don't think you can't teach a typhlosion how to fight i mean he has arms and legs he and he's fast so i think he can learn to punch and kick. now people will say blaziken and infernape can fight to yeah i know but physically there not strong like blaziken his body is birdlike is light and quick but because of that he can't take much damage and he can't body build to get stronger so that limits how strong he can get and its exact the same for infernape to and thats the reason why typhlosion can become so strong because he could body build to double his strength which would more than double his power and the fact that it would be easy to train him to fight so he can beat his so called weaknesses and theres nothing thats strong against fighting and fire so pysically he is the best and that is also why they never use typhlosion in the series and also thats why they never had ash's cyndaquil evolve because he would be so powerful and would kick so much ass which would result in everyone liking him and everyone not liking any other pokemon and pokemon hq knows that thats why they can't use him and since they have to have each pokemon in the series they only used typhlosion once in a quick scene another scene to blast off team rocket but typhlosion still wasn't featured in anything yet and instead of putting him in the series or in a movie they put typhlosion the chronicles which they rarely air anyways and even then jimmy's typhlosion had just recently evolved so it wasn't that strong and even taking that into account they still hardly showed him all because he's that good. on to the last thing think and again comparing typhlosion to the other fire starters is that you can take him with you pretty much anywhere because of the fact that he is similar in size to us and because he can shut his his fire at any time which is good because he can walk in public (charizard would poke peoples eyes out with his wings and trip and start people on fire as would blaziken and infernape he also could ride in a car cause he could fit and wouldn't start it on fire and he also would do good at home because he wouldn't start my house on fire.

well because you sure been putting a lot of effort into your arcanine so i though maybe you like them more than just cuz there cute! so i just wanna know! like i love typhlosion and not just cuz he looks cool or cuz hes the most impossible pokemon to draw right but because..... this is kinda long (and btw arcanine is really cool to! they are simple and strong and not over done like most other pokemon! and there cute!).......well first silver was my most fave game ever! and since i love fire i obviously chose cyndaquil so anyways i used typhlosion forever! i was devastated when the battery died in it losing all 250+ hours gameplay! anyways i ended up after hours of thought realizing that typhlosion has the ability to become the strongest non legendary pokemon! anyways more on that later! first i love the way he looks and the way he is built! he is just like a badger which are my favorite animal! anyways they move around on 2 or 4 legs and there really built which makes them strong and one of the fastest pokemon! there the only fire type that can shut off there flames so they could live in a house and be hugged without burning you or your house down! and since typhlosion is a pure firetype and that he is volcano type he can create heat throughout and around his entire body! which i believe he is the only one who can do that! anyways that makes him 100% fireproof!!! (except in games they take that ability away
