Description An abandoned old mud city of a previous civilization. Abandoned as it can collapse at any time. Some of the buildings, however, were restored by locals just as a shelter, or even a permanent place to stay.

Most of the suspended floors gave way already and only the ground floors are in use. Some building collapsed already and people had to evacuate, but they are still holding on to their history.

Fascinating... the area between buildings too (road?) Looks like solid rock but at the same time a bit like a river.

Yes, It is very strange to see where we are coming from, where we are now and the possibilities of what lies ahead. Some people still use those old mud structures even though they are come tumbling down regularly with the seasonal rains. Thanks for your insight.

This is in the Al Hamra district of Nizwa, Oman. I was amazed by it as well. Believe it or not. people are still living in some of those old buildings.
