My other drawing for my 25th birthday is for one of the folks I grew up with: Dr. Seuss. When I was younger, I loved reading Dr. Seuss' books. In fact, I still have some of his books including one that taught me the alphabet. Before I turned three, I knew the alphabet entirely.

On top of that, Dr. Seuss shares the same birthday as me. Theodor Seuss Geisel was born on March 2, 1904. He died on September 24, 1991 at the age of 87. I was 18 1/2 months old at the time of his death. Today, he would've turned 111.

Looking back, I admire the wacky, colorful, and surrealistic art style that Dr. Seuss had. In fact, not along after getting into the Sonic series in 2001, I saw this one part of this one episode of AOSTH that kept reminding me of Dr. Seuss' style (specifically, the eye pupil shape). The scene's actually from the first episode in the series.

So with that in mind, I decided to draw Classic Sonic in a way that Dr. Seuss (who died just over three months after the first game in the Sonic series came out) probably would've drawn him.
