Contest entry for KTCFans . The objective is to design a new pair of shoes for LouisEugenioJR 's Sonic OC, Kathy the Cheetah.
Contest TimeI've decided it should be time to host a contest.
The theme is "Kathy's New Shoes". To enter, draw a picture of Kathy the Cheetah either digital or traditional (you may use the ref sheet below) wearing a pair of shoes different from her trademark shoes and include a panel in the picture which includes a close up shot of her feet wearing the shoes.

I'm scheduling the deadline for a tentative date of May 26, 2019, so you'll have plenty of time to work on it. The winner will receive a one-year Core Membership. Honorable mentions will receive points.
Also, don't forget to advertise this blog in a journal or status update so more people can join in.

I was considering holding off until May 20th, but I started to feel that it wouldn't be a good idea as I considered the possibility of someone beating me to the design or a design similar to this.

I wanted Kathy's new pair of shoes to be simple, familiar, and recognizable without giving up on a sporty appearance. So what I did here was design a pair of sporty Mary Jane slingbacks based off of the shoes Kathy currently wears. Another thing I added was inspired by a pair of Sketchers work shoes that I've been wearing for work. Those shoes had a steel-like toe at the front near the bottom. So, I figured it would be a good idea to add that here.

I also added two close-ups of the shoes at the right, one with Kathy wearing socks (bottom) and one with Kathy not wearing socks (top) as I wanted to show these could easily be worn with or without socks. Consideration over the possibility that Kathy's preferences with socks may change over time was put into the design.

Now that I got this done, I can now work on some other drawings also meant for May 20th.
