I just think Tonks and Lupin make a strange and uncomfortable couple.

on a side note, i saw a comment of yours saying that part of your dislike for mrs weasley is that you're a feminist and you don't like that she's a housewife. umm no offence but... huh?
i consider myself a feminist and i love that molly is a proud, happy wife and mother and doesn't feel the need to be anything else. should women feel like they have to get married and have kids? nope, of course not. is a housewife and mother the 'perfect woman'? nope, no such thing. is a woman a failure or somehow lacking if she has no husband or children? nope, and molly weasley would be the first to agree with that. freeing women from the expectation that they will get married, please their husband and pop out a dozen babies is very important but it does not mean looking down upon women who do actually want that. there is nothing wrong with a person, male or female, whose ultimate ambition is to have a family and make that family happy.
molly is a great example of someone who knows what they want and has wholeheartedly dedicated themselves to what they feel is important. she's not presented at any point as being on a pedestal or being what every woman should aspire to be. she's just another character.
sorry for the rant, feminism is just something that i care a lot about.

LOL crying Voldy....people need to make more insulting pictures of Voldemort. That's how they dealt with the idea of Hitler, after all.

I guess, being a 'feminist' (*cough*), she kind of bothers me: as if being a "perfect wife and mother" means to completely ignore your personal interests and talents, and to devote your entire life to your family. Mrs. Weasley spends all her time cleaning, cooking, washing etc. and we never see her do anything but that (apart from killing Bellatrix, which I didn't like either). It seems such an old-fashioned view on what a woman should be, and I wasn't brought up like that at all.

Oh come on! Me, as a woman, would be delighted to make my family happy and always be there for them. Lol, you didn't like her killing Bella? I hate Bellatrix, urgh.
I wasn't either, but I don't think you had been brought up much different if you had six siblings.
They are not a rich family, and Arthur must work. She only makes sure that her family is okey and takes care of them as good as she can, and with that many children, she doesn't have time to much more. They can't afford a baby-sitter, there's not really much of a choice.
But we never see her when they're at school, she probably has much less to do then and maybe ... sits down knitting or listens to that witch she likes. She reminds me of grandma

because of the same sort of reasons you just gave. It seemed totally random - like there was no lead up to it, no explanation, it just came out of nowhere. Felt very contrary to the characters Rowling had established, who I liked individually. But after they got together, I kind of felt like they lost their characters, like Rowling forgot who they were.
So. Yeah.
