Yay for excellent reflection skills! I can see how people do it with digital art, it's merely pushing some buttons and working with filters (okay, I'm making that sound easier than it is) but in traditional art like yours, getting lighting just-so is truly an art form.
I agree with eltitere - if a levitation charm alerts the ministry, surely a lumos charm would too. Yep, epic movie fail. (Then again, in OotP, why didn't the ministry sense that a packing charm was used when Tonks attempted to fix Harry's trunk?)
He looks so nice and cozy. Aww Hedwig needs an owl treat!

yes, that wasn't very clear. I guess it has to do with the power of the spell? Maybe "lumos" is sort of like a feature on your wand (the way some mobile phones have a flashlight function) and it doesn't require a lot of magic. I would imagine the ministry wouldn't want to be desturbed for any little thing, but only when their is a significant breach (when - say - you're inflating a muggle).

OH MY GOOD THANK YOU FOR DRAWING HIM WITH A MUGGLE LAMP

I was honestly frothing at the mouth when the movie showed him using underage magic in the first ten seconds. CONTINUITY FAIL D:

I love Harry and Hedwig here! That is how I used to do my reading/studying when I was his age--on the bed!
