Description For the past few weeks, I followed an etching course, and it was great fun! I had never etched before and knew nothing about it and now six lessons later, this is the result. I know it's not perfect (go easy on me please - etching is a complicated and messy business) but I'm actually quite happy with these final two prints, so I decided to share them with you.

girl you are obviously a born etcher! Do some more! I totally love the aquatint shading, the lady's reflection in the window, and the bricks. Your lines suit the medium so well! Really love it.

Intaglio is a really great process but etching can seem intimidating at times sicne it feels like you have to work backwards sometimes. I think this is a really great image! Especially how you handled the bricks using the etching process. Did you hand tint the colors? This is a really great print

I don't know what intaglio is, but yes, etching was a bit intimidating. It was difficult to draw and etch sometimes, not knowing what the result would look like. And the aquatint was a very different way of working; as you said, it's kind of working backwards.
And yes I did hand tint the colours, I'm glad you think it looks good (I made another coloured print where I tried to use 4 colours, but that came out horrible :-D so I didn't dare upload it)
