Born from a Demon father and dragon mother, he was born as a hybrid of both. Kuuya Sakamoto was a Dragon Demon who was well-known for his power and knowledge in Makai. During the Mystic Square Incident, Kuuya was sent by Shinki to spy on Gensokyo to find the Travel Agent who caused the whole Mystic Square Incident, but to no avail. After the Incident resolved, he was attacked by Reimu and Marisa at the Forest of Magic. Kuuya didn't fight back or anything until Gervin appeared in the scene and resolved the conflict. Kuuya then explained that he was sent to Gensokyo to find the culprit of the Travel Agency. After being beaten by Reimu and Marisa, Kuuya then contacted Shinki and was given new orders. "I want you to live in Gensokyo. Keep an eye out for that culprit and bring them to justice. Be careful, Kuuya. I'm counting on you." He then left and traveled all over Gensokyo until he found himself at the entrance of the Bamboo Forest of the Lost. After living for years in Gensokyo, he developed a liking of Gensokyo and started to think that it was a good idea of living in Gensokyo.
