Description
This is from a series of 14 x 17 " Bristol board pen and ink ( extra fine ballpoint, and sharpie marker) pieces I did in 1996 Dec - May. I was planning to go to S.C.A.D., after being out of highschool and in the local community college for 1 semester working two jobs. I tried my best to create a portfolio to get a scholarship. It was exciting to get the scholarship, and in the first quarter ( Fall 96) I rode my bike everywhere, did artwork all day, and a freelance mural during exam week. 2nd quarter (winter 97) I was on the Crew team (rowing), and did artwork all day. In the 3rd quarter (Spring 97), I had taken all the main studio courses, and felt I should use what I had learned, rather than continue to 'survey' techniques. So I left S.C.A.D. and started doing watercolor paintings ( Summer of 98 to Summer of 2000) while long distance running and bodybuilding.
