I'd email this to my illustration professor, but she already called the lineart version "too violent". Dunno what she would say now.

I love the linework and colors. Great figure style and fine poses. Intense and well balance. The muscles are well rendered.

The first thing that caught my eye is the vast greatness of the anatomy especially Orcs' back facing out. The lighting and color tones are smooth as well as appealing. My love of the anatomy is something I can't stress enough as I need to work on my anatomy skills (Like the leg, that orcs' leg would be something I would struggle on drawing). On top of all this...the mood delivers.
I have stopped by your gallery a few times yet I apologizes for have not commented before on the greatness of it.

Extremely impressive stuff, and it was fascinating to see how the finished pic developed through the various stages of pencilling, inking and colouring. I can't help feeling a bit bad for the monsters, though. They never really stood a chance, did they?

Violent indeed, but sweet nonetheless! Great action scene; like a still photograph caught in the midst of battle, this has a great feel of motion to it.
You know, just looking at the back of the bad guy in the foreground, I think this stands for some great improvement by removing the black lines. You shaded and textured so well that they actually look a bit cheesey and out of place, especially throughout the musculature. It's like outlining a photograph. Just not necessary since everything it needs to stand alone is already there.

The dwarf's expression and posture sings true to what would happen if left only with his hammer and a hoard of monsters intent on ripping him a new one (the intent is mutual I'm sure).
Anatomy all appears to be in place as well as the gestures being made by the competitors. Gore is great looking, I like the way in which the blood is splattered onto the hammer in particular.
Background and character colours all blend together appealingly to create a dark and grungy atmosphere. I like it.

Nice! I like the intense feel of the pic. The colors really help set the environment. And of course, that's one kickass dwarf.
But alas, I gotta say I have to deal with similar problems myself in school. Whenever I put all my heart and soul into a drawing, it gets backhanded by my teacher and is branded as "too violent", "too insensitive", or "too negative".
Still, I'd like to see how she'd react to the finished version.
