I have never really seen those colors used to represent a tree of life until now. And it's more than solace to be had; it is consoling, and warm while the sky seems cold.
I don't understand why you put it into macabre & horror, though.
I believe that it is brighter than that. It would look wondrous in smooth oil paints... if you can achieve the sweep that watercolors give.

i like to use bright colors when i paint. and pink is my favorite. the pink used in this piece actually glows under black light. it's totally tube. thanks for the comments!

Really? I didn't realize they had glo-in-the-dark paints like that. Is it a quality paint, or is it just that stuff that doesn't always work good? It looks really good, though....Let me know what brand it is if you can......Such a lovely picture deserves good comments.

thanks! the colors are great. i never really enjoyed purple until this painting. although the paints are watercolors, it's a very un-watercolor like painting. to get the colors to blend the way i wanted, very little water was involved. i cheated. i'd love to see this on in oil, but it would be way difficult to mix those colors.
the best thing is that the sky glows in black light.
