Description So I meant to post this earlier but it was no where near ready then, the planned date in there if you look. This is likely my last Battletech/RWBY crossover involving the Battle of Beacon I will make, any future pieces will be related to more current RWBY developments.

For those who feel they need to catch up with my imagination's special brand of nonsensical madness...

I would really love to do just that, but lately I do not feel capable of it for a myriad of reasons. Not only do I feel overwhelmed by ideas all "jostling for position" in my mind creating one fustercluck of an artist's block, including the continuation of this storyline, but I working in EMS during a global pandemic has left me with precious little energy or free time. I have been triaging my available time trying to work on my big project, a fanfic novel based on Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries titled The Red Dragoons ( www.deviantart.com/ghostbear30… ) but the aforementioned artist's block has been kicking my ass there as well.

Well he alternates between that and just laughing maniacally over the PA system, something I wish I could do in multiplayer for any Mechwarrior title as I have been told on multiple occasions that my laughter sounds terrifying 🤪😆

It is not technically overkill if the warship was part of the original bid. The fact that the original bid of a full 1,220 Warrior Galaxy with dropship and warship support was overkill is a separate issue.

You said you read all the comics in this series so you would realize Galaxy Commander Euclides bid a warship for this Trial. To bid a warship and not use it is wasteful, and above all else the Clans abhor waste. Ironwood merely provided an... "adequate" use for that particular resource.

Well in all fairness everyone in Phi Galaxy is a bit off kilter, some more than others. Clan Ghost Bear formed it not only to assault heavily fortified Inner Sphere positions (something they felt was necessary since they moved completely to their Inner Sphere holdings), provide a unit where Warriors seeking advancement can rapidly prove themselves in situations where heavy casualties are anticipated (hence why they are known as "The Forlorn Hope" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forlorn_… ), but also a way to gather all the more eccentric elements of the Touman into one unit so they can keep better track of these peculiar Warriors who are still usefull for front-line service. Phi Galaxy is expected to engage in abnormal scenarios so they need to "think a bit differently" to put it mildly. It stands to reason that the leader of the Clan's designated weird misfits would be among the crazier in the unit quiaff?
(No, Galaxy Commander Euclides is far from the craziest Warrior in Phi Galaxy, though Star Captain Sandra Silva is among the more sane individuals)

Aff, your logic seems sound and once again I am amazed by your creativity with these characters... and you've probably just convinced me on what galaxy im going to try painting my next ghost bear star as xD
By the way, what is their colour scheme? They seem to be close to the standard ghost bear colours of blue and white, but that is just me going on assumptions. Is there a chance of finding out what their *ehem* 'true colours' are per chance, quiaff?

Colors would vary by cluster but generally follow base of gray with white and light-blue accents in a camouflage type pattern (similar to this concept ghostbear3067.deviantart.com/a… made long before I created Phi Galaxy). I have a file with the various clusters's insignia and Galaxy insignia which I used to add details in the drawings but I am unsure I am quite ready to post that here.

Awesome, gonna try painting this scheme on a mad dog resculpt I have arriving this weekend. Hopefully I don't mess it up xD
I Hope we get a chance to see an official picture with colour scheme and insignia for Phi galaxy when you feel ready to post such a thing. Once again, love your ideas for these crossover

until next time Trothkin! O7

Well the Phi Galaxy insignia is present in full all over the place starting in "Trial of Grievance- Part 2", on mech's right leg, aerospace fighter's right wing, or Elemental's left shoulder. There is quite a bit of detail in the design because I did not think of miniature painting when I came up with it.

Euclides is a Freeborn Abtakha born on Terra, southeastern South America to be precise, and keeps many of his "quirks" from his adolescence and stint serving in the Com Guard. He was assigned to Phi Galaxy specifically because they felt the need for someone who could think "unconventionally" even for an Inner Sphere born Mechwarrior, he rose to the rank of Galaxy Commander through a series of flukes and accidents.

Bonus: It is actually the version from the Spamalot Musical, which has the lines...

"So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath"

Just imagine hearing that reverberating off ruined building during urban combat following an hour of maniacal laughter.

Not exactly, recordings in various formats made it to several planets including several within the Clan Occupation Zones. Euclides grew up with access to recordings on Terra and as such whenever he ran across one in the Isrola from any missions he claimed it immediately. This was very easy since even among the artistically inclined Ghost Bears the recordings were largely ignored so nobody would challenge his claims.

Incidentally as a native Portuguese speaker I always have to restrain myself from laughing when saying "seyla" because it is phonetically identical to "sei lá" which is a common expression for "I have no idea".
