I've never done something like this before but I found out about PastellPrince 's species, Hyalus, and their MYO event looked like fun! So here's mine! (All traits are common.)

Name: Xylem
Gender: Female
Age: ??? (She's been lurking around the forest since at least the 20's, judging by her dusty old football jersey)
Height: 6'7" (7'5" including her horns)
Weight: 210 lbs
Skin: Olive, with some dark green patches
Eyes: Gold (matches horns/tail)
Hair: Dark Green (was probably jet black at some point)

Horns: Closed, about 2/3 full (by volume anyway - looks closer to half because of tapered shape)
Tail: Closed, shape is a loose hexahedron
Liquid: Tree Sap

Personality: Patient and takes things as they come, though is always quick to defend/return fire if threatened or attacked. Moves slowly and is a friend to nature. Very much a mama bear type, though doesn't show affection very straightforwardly. Speaks bluntly and in matter-of-fact tone. Smiles are generally rare. Wary of humans, and their treatment of the environment, though does not fear them. Would just rather avoid making a scene or entering a situation that would cause anyone (humans) to get hurt.

Backstory:
After deciding to visit the human realm out of boredom with her home realm, Xylem found herself taken with Earth's flora and fauna, and decided to stay. She preferred the solitude of living her days wandering the forest and interacting with the various creatures that lived there, making sure to keep out of sight of the humans. She knew from the start that her height, horns, and ears would be too difficult to disguise, so Xylem opted to camp out in the woods to avoid unnecessary confrontation and threats to her own/others' safety.

Most human adults avoided the deeper part of the forest where Xylem lived, so she never expected to ever see any children, either. but one day an adolescent boy with tears streaming down his face emerged suddenly from the trees, and promptly tripped on a large tree root. The magnificent fall took place not 15 feet below where Xylem was taking a nap, and was enough to shake the entire tree. Thus Xylem fell from her napping branch and right in front of him. It was enough to shock the boy out of his crying fit, though he didn't look scared, so eventually the two managed to strike up a conversation. They hit it off from there, and the boy explained that he was trying to escape a group of bullies - some members of his football team who thought him too weak to play. Xylem listened to his story and agreed to teach him how to run swiftly and take on larger opponents, with herself as a practice partner. This went on for weeks, months, and years. Eventually the boy became the star player on his high school team, and when he was drafted for a college league, he gave his high school uniform to Xylem as a goodbye present, and a promise to return someday.

Trivia/Other Stuff:
- Xylem's name comes from one of the two types of tree sap, with 'phloem' being the other (less snappy-sounding) type. I don't know enough botany to tell you for sure which type is in her horns/tail, though.
- Xylem's forest is filled with sugar maples. It's meant to be in the general New England/Canada area.
- The 59 wasn't random, though it doesn't mean much; it's just my slot number from the MYO event journal as a fun little detail (though the decision to turn it into a football jersey number was a bit arbitrary).
- Xylem's original outfit? Tattered and mostly unrecognizable by the time the football boy found her. Whatever it was, the material wasn't built for human forests or their harsh climate, though Xylem managed fine otherwise.
- The boy was able to return to the forest again decades later, right before he retired. He never met Xylem again but he did leave her a little box with a letter, some pictures of him/his family, and some small mementos. He buried it near one of their marked trees and Xylem found it a few weeks later.
