Your art is beautiful and awesome. I was just referencing some Victorian dress for my own amateur artwork and ran across some SteamPunk pieces. Love it.

Armor detail is absolutely glorious. Love the one puffy sleeve. Unfortunately her face looks very, very similar to much more of your older designs which makes it seem less original.

This is epic.

I was wondering how big the actual drawing is, what size of paper do you use? Also what pencil, and how do you get rid of the base lines?

This is amazing. I'm a good artist, if I may be a little boastful, but I don't think I can reach this level of detail.
My planned character is also an eladrin, but a wizard instead. I've even fleshed out a backstory for him.
Hope your paladin survives into the Epic Tier!

I understand, but with a trace equal to her I had to ask to at least try to redraw a drawing as my bad huh? kkk. Then I'll put here my eladrin's so then you have a look ok? You draw a lot!

I have always enjoyed these realistic styles of armor renderings.

You spent a considerable amount of time and detail in the scales, and overall appearance of this armor set. It looks amazing for not being shaded at all.

A couple of key things I think what I liked best is that fact that the armor isn't overly built and bulky, and it really looks like something you'd expect to see worn over time.

Would you feel comfortable submitting this image into the Battle Ready Womyn group? [link] Were a group dedicated to realistically armoured women warriors and respectful interpretations of them and feel this artwork fits group qualifications. Hope you chose to contribute! (This would be best submitted into the Metal Ages folder).

Paladins are also now a term for cosmic, spiritual champions of their faith, cult or religion, so they may actually use a lot of weapons... froma whip for a 'paladin' of *Lolth*, to a sword for a paladin of Kord or Tyr...

Yeah I know, when I was told that paladins didnt carry swords, I was like wtf thats not true. Then the guy gave me a long speach about why they didnt carry swords or any kind of blades.

Devilactive In reply to theroyalscouter [2011-02-09 00:50:15 +0000 UTC]

Considering that the sword is the ultimate symbol of knighthood and valor and the paladin is pretty much the ultimate knight and warrior of Good, it'd be the rare paladin who didn't carry and use one.

It's primarily clerics and priests that you won't often see with a sword (the exceptions are most often priests of some deity of war). The ones from old-school D&D could not use any weapon except the bludgeoning variety, and were primarily based on those militant priests from the middle ages who primarily used them due to the old stricture about not spilling blood (though blunt implements, particularly the heavier ones, are just as capable of that kind of thing as any blade).

theroyalscouter In reply to Devilactive [2011-02-09 02:50:44 +0000 UTC]

Well paladin is consider over anything a noble being and in the code it say they will not spill the blood of others. And just as many others, trick the code by using a none slashing weapon that didnt spill the blood of their enemy. They wherent consider knigh, they fought on foot most of the time but the code of chivalry say only three thing, to always speak the truth (your truth of course), you will only fight for god, the king(landlord) and your lady, and you will protect the inocent. The rest of the code talks about rules of engagement. As no turning your back on a foe and always accept the challenge of an equal. Essentialy they had only this three duties. The one to god the one to the kingdom and theone to their women. Sad is that the loyal paladins as many other are guilty of nor following even their own code in occations. Sword is a simbol of many things because is one of the most used weapons in history but paladins by default an code didnt use them.

I'm not a fan of 4th ed. lol But this is some awsome work, Really nice design it allows you to see the female form while remaining a practical suit of armor.

ghostfire In reply to Aquin7777 [2010-07-23 06:59:19 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... I started by drawing horizontal lines to make where the rows would be. Other than that, it's just a lot of care and time.
