For this type of power armor, the person's hands are in the arms, controlling entirely mechanical hands.

I'll be damned... Went back to the combat video and they did change it, original PA didn't have control of mechanical gauntlets, the tech didn't get that far, the operator had direct control of the gloves/gauntlet by wearing bulletproof glove, but now on FO4 theres a gauntlet control i froze the image.
A little bit of retconn there but nothing serious Bethsoft... No matter, with that in light your drawing then has zero criticism from me then.

I think it's just that the FO4 armor is a slightly different model. It's T-60, instead of T-45 (if I'm remembering the designations correctly).
