There are so many tiny pieces of glass brought together to show stunning musculature in this animal. There is no mistaking this horse is powerful. I love that all these joins make up just the head and shoulders. Many stained glass show the horse's full body. This one showed power without doing so.

Add the stunning sunset the background makes!!! The colors of the background actually enhance the foreground figure. The artist chose a non-conventional palett for this piece and it worked so well. This could be a horse stepping through fire or just wandering at the end of a long day.

This is a nice piece. The colors of the glass for the background are especially well-chosen. The sunset look gives this a nice western romantic feeling. Give it the right light and the right angle and it will keep that wonderful ambiance.

Excellent. Do you work quite a bit with stained glass?

I work with it as much as I can, it's one of my favorite mediums to work in I currently have two panels I'm working on. One I'm just trying to find the right glass to finish it, and the other is about half way done.

So are they just for personal use or are they commissions?

A few of my glass pieces are personal; but some, like the butterfly scene I'm working on is a commission.

I'm starting to get a few here and there. I've been working on getting my glass recognized since many don't know I work in glass.

It's sort of an obscure industry.

GhostHorseStudio In reply to dead-now [2010-01-22 13:12:55 +0000 UTC]

It is. Not many people work in glass because you have to be so precise and it takes time to complete a well constructed panel. This piece took me well over 20 hours to complete.

Not to mention the expenses.

I recently paid $20 for one sheet of glass. It was a lot for a foot square sheet of glass, but so worth it.

Was it antique?

It's a mottle glass that acts like Dichroic glass. It's a pale celery green and black on white, and when it hits the light the green turns into a bright fire orange with a blueish black halo around it. It's quite an impressive piece of glass.

That's a strange piece of glass. I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before besides actual dichroic glass.
