Hahah. I'm rather tired of hearing it when it's said in a serious sense. But sarcasm is okay by me.

That would be kind of nice, but I'm sure it could be a bad thing too.
I don't know, I've been fortunate enough to grow up in both the small town and big city scene, and as much as I do love the city, I can't stand being around so many people sometimes. Sometimes I wish I lived in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, away from the hustle and bustle and bullshit of the city. But most of the time, I don't really mind the city that much. It's nice to be able to get away though.

ahhh i see your point. I think ihate it, because i've lived here my entire 14(almost 15) years of life, so it's kinda boring right now.

I can understand that. But honestly, I bet if you moved to the big city, it'd be exciting at first, but you'd probably miss being in a little town after a while.
Most people I've ever met from a small town that moved to the city miss the small town.

D: I had only one pencil break one time, and that was because I sharped it wrong. D:
I kinda prefer crayolas for certain techniques though, isn't that sad? XD Crayolas make facial stubbly hair easy because they're so gritty.

Dude, crayolas effing rock my socks. they're a pretty good quality for the price, and they are EXCELLENT for small detail. Prismacolor tries to get detail work w/ their verithins, but crayola is a much better value. I got a bonus pack of verithins with my normal prismacolor pencil set, and they SUCK.
Art Stix, though...those are pretty rad.

Yeah, crayola lead is a lot harder so you can sharpen it super pointy for details. :3 Prismacolors are so soft, and they blend too easily for details. But that part I kinda like when it comes to drawing hair, they make blending highlights a cinch.
Never tried those. D:

That they do.
Don't waste your time with the verithins unless you have money to just completely BLOW. Crayolas are essentially the same thing, and I think they come in more colors anyway.

Bahhahaha nice!!
Thanks for the tip. I'll have to remember that when I run out of pencils. (not that that'll happen any time soon.)
OOOOH MAYUN. Hokay, so I already have on of those large gallon ziplock bags of crayolas, and I bought a small set of Prismacolors at the beginning of summer. Then I cleaned my room, (like DEEP cleaning) and found a tin of probably 100 colored pencils and some charcoal pencils, so I just chucked those in the zip lock bag, and that FILLED the bag, THEN I found another whole pencil box filled with more crayolas. I was like "WHERE ARE ALL THESE PENCILS COMING FROM?! D8 "

How do you go about drawing hair?? I'm not too great at it some I'm asking a load of different artists I respect for help.

GhostOntheStage337 In reply to Llamas4Jeff [2009-06-10 19:49:45 +0000 UTC]
Aww,that's sweet.
Ummm. Well, I started with base colors brown and very light yellow for the two different colors in his hair. Then I used black to go over the brown to create a darker shade and left some parts lighter to create highlights, at the very edges where it shows ends of hairs I try to be very light and sketchy, keep my hand loose, and I used brown to darken and highlight the yellow parts. Make sure that there is lots of value and varying color so it gives a more realistic effect than just looking like a solid mass. For edges around where hair meets skin, try to be lighter and almost kind of blend it in with the skin.

I love all his hair! I would hate it if he cut it all off and was bald tho! The only hair I didn't like was the curly short one that one I HATED! And sorry I said I would upload stuff but the computer chooses not to! I have no clue why!
