Description
There are things here
that have weighed on me
and left their mark.
Like the ever-shifting shore
and the speckled strands of sun
on the water.
Pieces of wool
that I plucked from fences
on my walk home.
I spun in with my hands–
spinning a silver wheel of stars.
There were mornings
when I watched the clouds
sliding down the hills–
a flash of sun off a tin roof
like Venus hanging in the west…
over hill, valley,
and sea.
