The hard lined ink of Slice Two: This World is not My Home. Since I am blending monochromatic ink wash with color in this series, I am trying to let the hard line brush work define shape, and then I'll go in with the ink wash to set up definition of form. On this particular image, I've already planned out what will be in color and what will be in black and white. While that will be a little more delineated in the rest of the set, for this one, I've decide to blend the black ink wash for the figure with the color of the background, which will be primarily blues and yellows. Perhaps some offset into purples and oranges for accent.
The challenge will be to see how the two mediums mix and at what point they will mix. It will be an interesting experiment. Now, on to inking slices three and four, to be posted soon!

I am trying cross hatching at the moment. This is where I want to be. I have a lot to train

Keep working on it, Ceratul! To this day, I still don't use that much cross-hatching, but I do use a lot of hatch! In this particular piece, I am going to let the ink wash define the tone and lighting on the face, but I wanted that added depth that cross hatching brings! Thanks for the kind words!
