Looks like how it might have looked if Paarthurnax reverted back to his old ways and sided with Alduin again. Could have been cool if that happened, would have made that fight much tougher.

Oh in defeat you could join them, now that would have been awesome, one badass Dragonborn with the whole world at his feet, and the Dovah at his side.
But look up Monahven on the Elder Scrolls Wiki, is seems that 10 years after the events of Skyrim, Paarthurnax approached the Dovahiin atop The Monahven, The Throat of the World, and together they brokered a peace between Dovah and Bron, or Nord. This formed the kingdom of Monahven, which encompasses all the mountain peaks of Keizel of Skyrim. This was formed to fight the Thalmor and it does include Dragon Riders, with its Capitol at Skuldafn.

I doubt I would join them either way, although I wouldn't want to, if it was ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY, I would kill Paarthurnax to protect the world. I would try to turn him back, I think I would do everything I could to avoid killing him, but if he was in his right mind, I think he would rather die then revert back to the way he was.
I've heard that's a good fanfic, maybe I should check it out.

Bethesda might make it cannon, if they like it enough, wouldn't be the first time that fans created something and Bethesda made it part of their games, I think a plug for Oblivion (PC only) started as a mod.

What I really want is for the dragons to appear again in the next installment. A lot of people want the friendly dragons in particular to show up. I can see Odahviing possibly making a comeback, but Paarthurnax? ehhhh not so much.

If Monahven becomes cannon you never know, the dragons might return, might get whole new dragons. If it goes to Argonia you never know what you might get. The mainland of Argonia is only part of it, there's a bunch of outlying islands as well that make up most of Argonia its self the province is actually pretty big.
