Watercolours, ink and a fair bit of white gouacheThis is a little puffy wood pigeon and it was fun to paint. I like wood pigeons. There's something a little matronly about them and I think that's cute. I like the colours on this a lot but looking at it now I do feel that maybe it could have done with either a little more contrast or without the black outlines.

Awhhh! I really strongly dislike pigeons but how could this one not melt a heart 
I actually love the thicker black outline here. It brings Mucha to mind a bit. I think it created a nice contrastΒ to the dreamy backgroud and is doing a great job as an accent for the subject here, so the pigeon doesn't fade away. Great illustration.
