Hmmm I'd go with the SU-100Y, if only because of the French history with armor, or lack-there-of compared to everyone else.
Although I must say, the French auto-loading guns are quite good.

...Where do I start?!
Well, I guess I can start with the with the faction that would be using the AMX CDC - something called the Erodonian Commonwealth. Effectively, try to think a more stable European Union as rendered through something not unlike how the UK has all of its commonwealth countries around the world - gross simplification of what both are, of course, but it's a reasonable enough approximation. It broke of from a significantly larger nation called the Holy Empire of Dentsch, and under the guidance of their first king, did everything they could to re-establish the cultures of the 13 liberated nations, one of which - the Kingdom of Polgium - became the head nation of the Commonwealth. There's also their close ally of Blitzberg as a 14th nation, which operates as an effective member of the EC when they're at war, but is officially recognized as an entity in its own right (I don't actually own Blitzberg, however, that belongs to a friend of mine who's off-site.)
The Empire of Dentsch, the nation from which the EC broke away from about twenty or thirty years prior to when I have the primary war of the "story" taking place, is a massive, highly religious and militarily minded nation. The best way to think of it, is a "Melting Pot" ala the United States as accomplished through outright force and imperialism and who bullheadedly believe that they are right, and they are the only right nation on the entirety of the planet. They are more interested in fighting the one other superstate, but maintain an interest in "regaining the renegades" from the EC.
Said other superstate is the Selkan Federation. I have some flowery name to make it sound more like a Soviet Union-esque nation but I can't offhand remember it. It consists of several really tiny nations, and a few really large ones, with names that transliterate into things Zaekland, Hyugoselka, Zekke, Petranya, et cetera. Effectively it was founded as an attempt to bring lasting peace to an otherwise wartorn land and... that's mostly worked, at the expense of some civil liberties and "occasional" famine and having to permanently fix the value of their money. For the most part, you can consider them the resident counterpart of the Soviet Union, but to what extent I haven't quite decided yet.
There are some other nations but those are the "Big Three" that form the three main factions of every war I've pondered. The primary one so far is more or less set in a somewhat Red Alert-ish setting of "Delayed World War II" where the Dentsch are invading the Erodonians. Mostly I gear it towards being a Strategy game but until I actually have the know-how to develop one it'll probably stay in the context of writings and such.
