There is a wave travelling through time, from the denim fabric, through the poster canvas and into the folds of her clothes. She is not defined by the wave, but is buoyant, she is not trapped by the message of the wall, she is waiting.

This picture is spectacular. Again contrast of opposites. Modern and traditional, Happiness and sadness... The look in her eyes, the revealing lips, the rings on her toes... So much to see in this photo. I love it

Wow, the background speaks of sensuality, love, touch, and passion; while reality speaks of something quite different. I am very interested in the Israel, Egypt, and India, and the complexity of these cultures hurts my brain when I think of them.

but despite that, its such a wonderful photo, and again,
your words bring more value to the piece.

I'm from alaska and this is in a way a culture shock, but i still love it, and one of the reason is cause it's outside my culture, but the emotion in the eyes is still the same as anyother. and it's still beautyful.

I am in LOVE with this photo
but may i ask
as i am planning to go to india this summer myself
how did you get the picture?
did you ask the women if you could take a photo of her?
As a new photographer I am a bit afraid that someone is going to hit me if i dont ask properly if i can take a photo of them!!!

But again, an inspiring photo
and i love the caption with it!!!!

I smiled at her and lifted my camera.
If I see they are unhappy with me taking their picture, I back off.

Thank you

whoa! im Indian and there is this aspect to the picture that you have somewhat wrong..
since the model is squatting in front of a wall which bears a movie poster.. i guess it shows the pathetic situation of my country.. where its rich and the poor.. within whose irony comes along the dilemma among the rich and poor a section that is a mockery of a situation.. in the west referred to as Californication .. in India usually called Bollywood..[wannabe hollywood (!) ]
then the poster before which she sits reads Zehar.. because i remember watching the movie.. the literal meaning being "poison".. so taking that angle. and the expression in her eyes, she gives this angry, vindictive look.. its all contradictorily/fitting..
if i were you I'd prolly call it "wall" etc. cus that is what it seems to me in th first instance.. the basic emphasis of the subject metaphorically speaking is only on the wall!
the model.. the poster its all a horizon view..
however great shot..
and for your visit i think i'd give you a +fav..
and hey your gallery has no more india shots?
