Thanks to this comparison, I love Charlie Bucket twice as much when I go back to see Willy Wonka

Charlie in the reboot (starring Johnny Depp) was a goody-two-shoes, and the Nostalgia Critic hated the character for it.

I didn't mind him too much because the Charlie in the book was kind of like that as well (such as wanting to share his chocolate bar). He didn't annoy or insult me like Peter did.

Yeah, there was one episode which includes a scene where Peter tells on Henry for not wanting to hear a joke. There was also an episode which includes a scene where Henry takes Peter's binoculars and Peter LOUDLY bawls and complains about it. The parents don't even scold Peter for making so much noise.

I know. In one episode, the mum holds a contest where the boys have to tidy their room and if their room is clean they get a star. And Henry keeps missing out for minor things. Like one day he goes out to hang out his curtains which the impresses the mum and then SECONDS later he runs back into his ALREADY TIDY BEDROOM to get something and leaves muddy footprints that can easily by cleaned up afterwards but he doesn't get a star. The parents are awful for favouritism, no wonder Henry is the way he is. They keep calling him out for being horrid so he acts horrid.

Another thing I have to complain about is this scene right here: youtu.be/5K_CG5RHBx4?t=166 (2:46 - 3:44)

Honestly, Henry JUST SAID to his mother that Peter is using his father's BEST SHIRT to create fairy wings, and SHE DOESN'T EVEN THINK CHECK ON PETER AND/OR SCOLD HIM FOR IT. But then... Henry would get into trouble as well. But still!

Really Mum? REALLY?
There's actually a short when the mother loses her phone and Henry comes into the kitchen. He POLITELY SAYS GOOD MORNING and the mother scolds him for being horrid.
I don't even know anymore.

"Horrid Henry and the Perfect Parents". Why didn't Henry reply, "I only said 'good morning', nothing else"? Peter, on the other hand, was a brat. He pours more cereal (ALL of it, to be more precise) for himself, Henry just takes the milk and Peter screams 'no' at the top of his lungs.

That's it. I'm doing an Animated Atrocities. Which should I do, Horrid Henry Tidies Up, Horrid Henry and the Perfect Parants or Perfect Peter's Horrid Day?

Tidies Up, then Horrid Day and then Perfect Parents.

I'm only going to do one. I think Tidies Up might be the one because Perfect Parants actually isn't that bad and Horrid Day would just be me repeating myself after the comparison.

I actually have quite a soft spot for Horrid Henry because I grew up with the books (which are really funny) and the cartoon at least stays loyal to the source material. But GOD I hate Peter so much. He can consider himself lucky I didn't give him a Razzies.

He's supposed to be Perfect Peter, not Petulant Peter. But then again, he is FAR from perfect.

Now that I think about it, that's just cruel.

I want to do one of these myself for Arnold Shortman, but I can’t find another character like Peter
