well yes but actually no the weapon drops in place, it won't get blown away and there would be an invisible wall to prevent the fall... but the hunter could fall of a cliff and be forced to return to the upper area to recover the weapon XD so is the opposite. also you can change weapon at the base camp recovering your weapon through the power of magic and games' nonsense :V
