Wow. People should really consider to think about the meaning of this picture!!!
Takasugi stands on both sides looking to the right because the way he choose never changed, even while Yoshida was still alive.
Katsura always loved (like all of them) his Sensei and wanted to be with all of them forever. Now he still wants all of them to live in peace and be together, that's why he is following Gintoki, but holding his and out for Takasugi.
And Gintoki? As a kid he never had met peace until Yoshida found him and passed all his teachings on the three of them (Thats why he is standing on the left and is turned right).
As Yoshida passed away and the war came to an end he just wants to live a peaceful life now, minding his own buisness and protecting JUST what's right in front of him!

Your work is so great, I can feel Takasugi's attachment myself.
I really love their past, they have the best past even if you combine all the past in all the other animes!
