Description This is an all-round 'gift' cake that I make for all different occasions. Seeing as it's Mothers Day soon, I thought I'd put it on....

...you can obviously change the colour of the flowers, and even swap the flowers for eggs at easter...

my friend said she went on the philli website, they have recipes there, she made profiteroles with it as the filling. i had a look too there were as cake frosting, so if you have any left over cake spread on biscuits, can't remember the other ideas on there, seems a shame just to put it on bread.

Well.....whatever I put it on, I've told the kids not to touch it until I open it!
...I'll have to go on that website and have a look....later as I've got 4 sponges to cook and a stack of school uniform to iron

.....funny you should say that. The one I've just put in my gallery, I did submit exclusively to food-yum, but with your Easter feature, it's got me in the mood now, so I've submitted it to my own gallery...

That's because drawing only deals with two dimensions. Adding a third dimension is like the time it takes to draw a rose, squared.

...I read how to do them in a book ages ago....don't know which one, but I'm putting on a tutoral tomorrow for people to have a go. I don't know if it's the best way, but it's effective for flowers that are not too small ...

The problem with me is that I take time.....lots, so I get good results, but would have to charge a fortune to earn any sort of money.
...that and I'm taken my 'Mum' role very seriously. I'm all for independant working women, but unless we magically get a 48 hour day, I just can't fit it all in at the moment

..Yea, I suppose I'm quite tough on myself most of the time. The result's good, but I'm sure the way I do it isn't how it supposed to be done. I was going to post how I make flowers tomorrow for a fellow da, so I'll see how it goes down.

yes that would be great! i am wanting to make lots of mini roses and maybe add some of those silver ball edible decoration things if i can find any. My mother passed away 5 years ago so i haven't had to think about mothers day gifts for a long time, however my other half is useless at presents he will just get her some flowers, not even a card as he "doesn't do cards!" so if i get the chance i will make her some
