This is aΒ quick cake I've just made for my daughters boyfriend. She reminded me for weeks about a Birthday cake, but time crept up pretty fast, and all of a sudden, I had 2 days to make one! I baked....carved and covered on the same day which I really don't recommend......and painted and finished off the next. I wished I had time to do all the little details like the lock and chain etc, but he loved it anyway so that's the main thing

...yea, I think the creepy cakes are fun too. Iβm getting a bit fed up of the cute ones now.
The teeth are made of fondant, dried over night and lightly painted with edible colouring. I had to make a whole spare set as some broke off pushing it into the icing

Aha - I can imagine how you would have adorned it with locks and chains and perhaps some cracks or inscriptions - but I think it still looks creepy and amazing

I'm alright thanks. Yes back to school on Monday on Sarahs 9th birthday so will be a busy day. Not sure I'll be able to bake more when their back at school just yet, still decorating the house, so much wallpaper to strip and so many walls to prepare before painting. My room is next to do, no room has been painted before so it all takes time.

I've gone through 15 odd tester pots of different colours and shades so far. I'm finding it really hard to decide on a colour for my room. With my insomnia and anxiety I need a nice relaxed room for me to have as my calm place. At the moment, I'm thinking a dark green on one or two walls and cream on the others with some house plants dotted about. I'm also considering putting a fireplace back in the chimney like we did with the front room. Unfortunately when I removed the board covering it when stripping the paper, the hole behind is not in good shape, broken bricks and a makeshift backing support for what would have been for an old cast iron fire. Either way I have a while to mull over.

Colour choice is really hard. I've changed the colour of my kitchen 5 times in 6 years......and got it back to military magnolia.
My house is painted quite neutral really so I can just change accessories because I'm always changing my mind

I like to mostly have one feature wall and the rest of the walls neutral so when we do want to decorate we don't have to do the whole room, just one wall, I'm lazy like that but after two years of holding a paint brush I think I've earned it lol

Mimics have always been one of my favorite game monsters. They were both mysterious, scary and kind of adorable at the same time. But they always had some sort of high defense or high hit stat so they quickly became a nuisance. How fitting to be able to eat the Mimic that always came after you with those teeth ; )

This is like cake-ception, it's a cake that is a treasure chest that is a mimic so it's a cake mimic and I think my brain just exploded and it's AWESOME.
