I'm not scared. Light my candles.In a daze cause I've found god.
Tadaa! =] After aages of waiting - I finally finished the Kurt Cobain portrait. I'm really proud of this, my best work so far me thinks ^_^
It's going to be submitted as part of my GCSE coursework at school and my mum said she wants to make a print of it before I send it off so she can frame it on the wall
Anyway, Kurt Cobain kicks ass ;]
Tools Used: HB, 2B, 3B, 4B and 6B graphite pencils, standard eraser, kneaded eraser, Q tips and tissues
Time Taken: between 6 and 8 hours

Beautiful, but the first thing that struck me was that the right side of the face looks unfinished, I thought it was a WIP, if you defined the nose a bit more it would make a vast improvement. Love it overall though, well done n_n

yeah I can see that, in the origional there is a little more defenition that the camera has removed, but I do have a bad habit of shying away from adding darker shading and depth into my drawings so they look flat or featurless. I'll try and define the side of the nose more =] thanks for the comment! i shall take your critique on board

Same problem. I went through a phase of only using 2H pencil, I wouldn't even go to a darker HB D: But I'm over that now almost. xD

yeah i only used to use a 2B and a mechanical, but now i'm trying to use a wider variety and put more tone and depth into my drawings (still getting there though)
i guess it's cause if you go wrong with darker pencils and drawings, you can't really go back >.<

yeah I was origionally gonna do the whole thing but my art teacher suggested playing around with different areas and just taking one section, so i focused on the eyes and i think it worked well

i love Kurt Cobain :] he's not just the god of grunge...
he like, one of the best guitarists out there and i love his unique voice
but anyways, for sure i would have this on my wall

I think it's really good, but i can depend on your teacher. My teacher is really relaxed and lets us pick our own modules and subjects and mediums and basically just guides us through it quite loosely, but some teachers will try and channel a whole class into producing the exact same standard exam type still life pieces which can be really boring and un-interesting. So i think it depends on what your teacher will be like, but i would reccomend it because i've learned so much since starting =]
