I'm sorry for the poor stars, but I want to see more from the background. When doing black and white, shadows and contrast are your best friends and help the subject pop.
Your use of the rule of thirds is played nicely, however I feel the bit of background on the right half is just a smidge too big.
I love how detailed you are though. And the facial expression is chilling, I love it. Back to the background thing said just above, you eye are gazing at something, your body language to me says you're looking, longing at something. What is it? I want to see more distance from the corner to your eyes.
Tips: Crop the photo so the bit of wall on the right isn't as big. Doing this will create the distance I spoke about above by making the subject more towards the opposite edge than the direction of the gaze.
Use the burn tool or something with a similar effect, and add shadows around the left half to give depth, concentrating on there your shirt and wall meet.
Perhaps you should add the slightest splash of color in the bottom left corner, and have it stretch into the back and white, to make it look like, perhaps, you';re watching the "magic" or whatever thing fade away.
Over all, I'm sensing an ambiguousness from this and would love to see further development that helped create that.

Hello Brianna!
I'd like to thank you very, very much for this critique. It's the help I need to improve and I'm constantly wishing that I receive honest critiques like this one. You needn't worry about the poor rating, if it's necessary and honest I totally accept it, and I agree with the points you've made.
About the background, the reason why it's plain is because I didn't find good results with the camera I was using when it came to landscapes and backgrounds, and 90% of the background is cloned from the original one, having taken the picture in a very little white wall part, but I totally understand what you mean and I will take that into consideration for further shots.
I've changed the picture displayed here, and I cropped a part of the right wall as you adviced me, I also tried to do a higher contrast between the shirt and the wall but I found it impossible without looking 'fake', but next time I do one of these shots I will remember this detail. And about the light splash, I tried it and it looked good, but it looked a little bit overcharged, considering I was aiming for the simplicity with this shot.
Thank you so, so much for this critique, it has been really helpful and I will have everything you said in mind for further pictures

Let me get something out of the way before I comment on the image. I am SO JEALOUS of your hair!
With that out of the way: I love the... how do I put it... sort of etherial greyness of the image. Simply done, not overloaded with detail. Soft spoken, but loud in an empty room kind of a feeling. There is so much feeling in the subject (I know, YOU, but that sounds weird.) not confident. Sort of like being in that big empty room is too much attention, even if it's only the sun looking in. I could write stories about this girl. (I've said that before.) That means that the photo is really talking. I love the effects, if there are any. That is a bonus. I don't know by looking if the nuances are damn fine photoshoping or damn fine photography. (Both are respectable talents and I admire it either way.)
If you'll allow me, I will save this pic in a reference folder for character ideas. I have a story I think she would be BRILL in. (Again, weird saying you... if that makes sense...)
