Description First artwork of the summer. I piled up my books in front of my closet, and took pictures. ALL of my books can be seen in a non-artsy photo [link] there!

Also, much sadness is to be had, because I don't think I'm going to be able to take my Canon Rebel XT with me to Egypt. My dad told me I don't need to take it because I have my little Fujifilm but I really want to be able to capture Egypt with it! It'll be such a great experience, also to build on my photography skills. Sigh. He wants the lense before I leave.

Pooey. I've developed so much! I'm sort of attached to this thing. =/

I eventually want to catalogue all of my books. I just keep finding them everywhere and have no space to put them all! Haha. Love books. Can't have enough. I just got off college on Saturday and I've gone through three books already.

I am! I'm studying abroad for four months in Egypt! I leave in August and I'm super excited.

Most of mine are all from the library. So it's already cataloged for me, and I don't have to spend a time (well, I have to pay the large fines that collect because I'm always late returning stuff).

Wow, studying in Egypt. Some people have all the luck. I'm sure that will be quite fun.

Haha! While I love the library, I aim to have my own cozy little library one day. Floor to ceiling bookshelves, a fireplace, and a comfy chair. Actually, just rent me a room and that's what I'll turn it into. That's all I need! Ha! I don't blame you for returning things late. That happens to me all the time. Turned quite a few books back into the library late enough to be fined this semester.

Thanks! I hope so! I was getting a little iffy with going over there after all the uprisings, but things seemed to have calmed down in Egypt now.

We always talked about getting our own library in our family. Yeah, if I become a Dominican (been thinking about it) apparently their vow of poverty doesn't apply to books. so they're encouraged to keep as many books as they like. They are, as one Dominican described them, "God's nerds".

Yeah, don't get blown up or anything! You're studying in the English language, I presume? You don't know some cool Egyptian language, by any chance, do you?

God's nerds is probably one of the most epic descriptors EVER. Good luck on your decision on becoming a Dominican! And hey, at least you can have all the books you like!

And, haha, I don't intend on it! English is my native language and I can get by on a very very slim Spanish conversation and just finished two years of German at the college level. I don't know Arabic, but I'm going to be taking a five day colloquial Egyptian Arabic course while abroad, and hopefully a class on Hieroglyphics!

Hahaha, yeah. We'll see. I just really like the book part of the Dominicans.

Wow, so that'll be fun. I've always loved that sort of Middle eastern language. I tried teaching myself Hebrew and Sanskrit when I was in 7th and 8th grade. I didn't get very far, but it was worth a shot. Just Latin for me, and a tiny bit of Spanish.

Arabic is going to be a whole new world for me. I'm slightly scared, haha. I tend to stick to languages with the same alphabet as mine. Hebrew is also another language I want to learn! Along with Russian and Czech for some odd reason...

But good for you that you tried! I would love to learn Latin too, and would've started it in High School, but my school didn't have a Latin program. Just Spanish and French. =/

Yeah... Arabic actually sounds kind of like French to me too, except more guttural and cooler. Hebrew apparently doesn't really have any vowels, so that should be difficult.

Latin is a very useful language to know. I can kind of follow along in Italian, since I know Latin. The vocabulary at least is pretty similar.
