Only now. Before the idiot critics pressured the idiot producers into the director change and rewrites it was the most amazing thing. I am NOT exaggerating. It was phenomenal! Besides the fact that Spiderman is in it, it's not even recognizable anymore. I could cry.

Actually Patrick Page is still completely awesome. He's the only reason I didn't walk out in the middle and demand my money back this last time I went.

They must have make a comic-friendly show and not a movie-inspired one!!
I would have used madame webb instead of arachne!And the sinister six!!!!Come on!!They have turned kraven the hunter and electro in mutated scientists????!!But Great Scott!|!!

Exactly! The original did NOT follow the movie! It was a whole new story. The Sinister Six had nothing to do with Norman. They were waaayyyy cooler. Arachne was a complete character, pretty much a villain, not some figment of Peter's imagination! She was way cool too. This new version actually ends where the FIRST act originally ended. They just cut out the entire second half of the story. And if you've heard the CD soundtrack you notice that they changed most of the lyrics on stage, because they wouldn't make sense anymore. Not to mention the songs were all stuffed in awkward places because their original places no longer exist. "The sky tonight is luminous for all the wrong reasons - - -The sky tonight is luminous for some unknown reason." I almost walked out right there. The sky was "luminous" because the city was destroyed! It was burning in the backdrop. The world was actually ending. This one just made it out to be MJ being whiny. There were messages and morals, points and beautifully executed symbolism. They cut all that out except for Choice vs Fate, which they decided was completely opposite the original message. All the best parts are gone and the one's they kept are waaayyyy dumbed down. The characters, scenes, choreography (it used to HAVE choreography), morals were all much further developed. It was the difference between the hardy 3-minute applause it got last week when I went and the full-audience, 10-minute standing ovation I saw when I went early last March. I could still cry.

I read an interview of the new writers. They were so proud of themselves for "giving it a linear storyline" and "teasing out the story that was already there". For one, the only things that linear storylines have ever made famous are nurserey rhymes. And what, the plot from the MOVIES? I could have stayed home and watched the movies for free. Not only did they insult their audience, they put us to sleep. Okay, now I'm done. Sorry.
