Hey found your piece through ProjectComment

Your character is in a very good headshot. This could easily work as the menu avatar of a Rpg character. Such as RPG MAKER XP - Menu

There a couple of things that really work here. The pose while being simple gives him a dynamic look, specially since his head tilted forward, and his eyes not looking straight forward give a sense that his moving. I also enjoy the color choice, the pale skin and the black background, the blue hair and the yellow trimming makes the drawing really stand out, specially since yellow isn't so bright.

I would try to be more mindful with your scanning, or either have no boarder (like you did on the upper, left and right sides) or let some white all around the image(like you did Persona 4 Yu Narukami Gouache Fanart ). Secondly I would say try to be mindful in head proportions(a normal tip, is that the eye should be in the middle of the head), because it may give up the look that your character is using a wig rather if it has a too big forehead.

It's a great looking dynamic drawing, that works quite well with your water colors.

Hello there.

I do not use Copic myself, so can unfortunately not give much advice there. But can tell as much as that you seem to have an understanding of the basic concepts and techniques. It is good to see you have listed your materials.

First, if I may speak entirely personally, must say this is absolutely beautiful. This has an air of classic anime fanart, one that could have been drawn anytime from 1993 up to today. However, looking close it also has some of the same problems - for example, there are many outlines that do not line up, such as the bangs and the lower jaw. It is very nearly always a good thing using a reference, but when referencing screenshots it becomes especially important referencing the underlying structure as much as the result.
If you find the time, it may help to look up tutorials on measuring in drawing, especially on finding "landmarks" and defining positions in your references. For example, bishounen tend to have very defined chins: If you draw a straight vertical line from the chin to the highest point on the head, you have a fairly accurate measure for everything it intersects.

There are number if irregular "terminators" in the hair, where the lines waver closer to the end of each lock, as if the tip does not come naturally from the root. (The tip where the lines of the neck do not line up does not count. Everybody makes mistakes.) I have a similar problem drawing hair as lineart, though, and usually specific warmup exercises help: Just drawing long, parallel curves on a scratch paper, trying to keep an even distance between the lines. Perhaps the same will work for you as well.

I read in previous comments that watercolour paper can damage the markers, while printer paper still gets bled through. Perhaps you could try drawing pads - Derwent and Daler-Rowney both provide paper that is smooth, absorbient and quite resistant even to Molotow ink (if I am not mistaken, over 20% alcohol) - but you may want to check with an experienced Copic user, just in case.

Please forgive if this sounds a bit downbeat. This is a piece that has room for improvement in certain areas, but do consider that as well a quality.

Most welcome <3

Oh! Yes, I forgot one thing. I am no good with either Copic or watercolours, but fortunately there are others who are. Perhaps the work of CosmosKitty , larienne and Jlombardi will be of interest to you.

Stay strong!

Not too bad, though I'd advice regular printer paper for copics. Yes, they bleed through, but it looks much smoother and using watercolour paper is not good for the tips of markers-

I see! I never realized they can damage the tips of the markers. Thanks for the advice!

I struggle trying to find paper that can both take watercolor and copic though haha. I like using watercolor for background and copic for coloring the face
