Sometimes in life we encounter situations that challenge us and force us to grow and become stronger. This piece is inspired by the legends of the firebird and the phoenix; creatures who rise from the ashes of their own death to be reborn anew.A woman crouches, rooted to the ground in her struggle for survival through life's difficulties. The intensity of her struggle is ripping her very being apart, allowing her higher self to be born from the ashes of her ego. Even as she disintegrates, her true self is soaring in ecstatic joy and freedom.
