Description
I found one of my old Hans Christian Andersen story books while cleaning my room a while back, I ended up reading a few story’s, including my favourite, the little mermaid. Compared to the Disney version, this one is a little more sad, the poor girl ends up with her heart broken by her prince, then she dies and pops up to heaven (after obtaining a human soul, so I guess it’s a bitter sweet ending
).That inspired me to draw this, although I changed the physical appearance of the mermaid.
Anyway as always, please critique and comment!
(especially on the hands and the galaxy’s and water, those are usually my problem areas
)

This is beautiful!
The colours are wonderful, but it would be better if there was a slight difference between the person and the background.
For now, it seems like she blends too much with the background.
So the picture looks like there isn't any focus.
The water looks almost right, but the person's body would look more wavy underneath it.
The shape of the clavicle is curved oddly.
Look at people's clavicle, if not, your own to understand it.
Yeah mmm
But do keep on practicing and referencing from stuff.

I feel like you've given her more manly hands in the fact that the palms are a bit long, her hands are about as tall as her head, so a bit more compressed and it would look great! But the colors and textures in this are great. You asked about the hands and thats what I thought, hope that helps you
