Description so, ive been playing with zbrush and the new keyshot renderer link thing.  i couldnt sleep so i figured i'd mess around with a paint over of a zbrush model ive been working on.
while ive never really loved 3D model paint overs, and i definitely dont plan to make this part of my process (at least with figures, i do plan to try this approach with background elements at some point) it was still a good test, and fun to be able to crank through something like this so quickly.

Looks good! 3D is very helpful for making geometry guides to paint over when doing backgrounds. That's what I've mostly seen it used for in paintovers.

ya, it can definitely speed things up, im not sure if im into it or not as far as storytelling, i didnt expect to get any gestural quality or interest as far as movement... but im less unhappy with these than i expected, so who knows (these arent exactly action poses though).

Indeed, it's a very helpful skill to develop that many people often overlook or don't consider trying.

Here's an awesome background example:
The artist said she just used simple cubes made in Sketchup as a guide. For story-telling or comics something like this might be useful to maintain consistency when sketching the same environment from multiple angles an view across many panels.
