I love all the blue tones. Great job at those tiny little details in such a small piece! Lovely.

That's really awesome, especially for someone, who loves Stargate! Amazing!
Maybe my question will be stupid but..would you want an ACEO trade with me? I know my art isn't that good, but I would be so grateful if I could do trade with you!

I've just started making these just a few days ago and I really haven't decided what I will be doing with them yet. I don't know anything about trading or selling them yet(etiquette, value etc) I am trying to find a theme I might enjoy working on so that I can have several cards and maybe sell or trade those. Not sure of course, it is just a thought.

Do you trade the originals or do you trade prints? I could see about making prints. I have already promised this stargate card to my husband.

That's allright, I don't want to trade this card. I mean, if you would like to trade a new made card. I love dragons and I drew my own. I think it would look amazing made by your hands. But I understand if you won't want.
I had trade with a girl from Canada already. I could send you DevID, she knows that process with sending ACEOs to other countries.
And I prefer originals.

I'm not interested in trading right now but I will most definitely keep you in mind if I ever get the urge to paint a dragon. My son likes designing such creatures so maybe one day he could help me design a nice one.

I have done some research and I think I will be selling the originals and limited edition prints. I have placed the information in my ACEO folder [link] here on dA for now and will have a website specifically for these soon.

I have never been one to purchase or collect art mostly because I make my own but trading does sound like fun.

What a pity..But if you want to trade with someone one day, you know who's waiting to trade with you!

I haven't been watching tv at all recently but there are a few shows I will have to catch up on sometime. I don't get Supernatural anymore so when I go home I will have plenty of catching up to do.

nice- I never watched Atlantis, but loved Universe and the original The sun beams at the top are a nice touch

Giselle-M In reply to BecciES [2012-07-08 15:33:27 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! Out of the three I like Atlantis the best and Universe the least. I should most likely give Universe another try though, I'm guessing they developped the characters a bit more since the last time I tried watching it.

I hadn't paid enough attention to converting into metric but now I realize *how much* smaller it actually is than on my screen! (Makes it 6.5 cm x 8.9 cm, which is pretty small enough to be saluted for that level of details. I'm probably the only one who realizes *that* late ...)

Giselle-M In reply to JAMsEye [2012-07-08 15:26:09 +0000 UTC]

ha ha! I didn't realize how small they were until I actually tried one. It makes quite a difference in my painting style.

JAMsEye In reply to Giselle-M [2012-07-08 16:45:38 +0000 UTC]

Eh, I guess so. Do you work with smaller brushes BTW?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Giselle-M In reply to JAMsEye [2012-07-08 17:06:18 +0000 UTC]

Yes I do use smaller brushes but I think my biggest problem is that I need to focus my eyes on the small details during the entire painting tiring them out much faster than when I do a larger piece. I find that I am mostly doing pointillism for the most part which I would not do on a larger piece. I'm not implying that I apply the actual properties of pointillism as did some of the masters, just that I am applying the paint in tiny dots instead of strokes where very fine details are required.

JAMsEye In reply to Giselle-M [2012-07-08 18:19:41 +0000 UTC]

Well, you said it implied a changed in your painting style and that's quite an explanation. I'd have nothing against you if you invented a new kind of pointillism though . (Just teasing you.) It's true it must be eye-tiring in the long run — I start to feel that personally so I know what you mean.

There's no zoom in traditional art...and my eyes are not what they used to be...I had the eyes of an eagle and now I have the eyes of a darn bat! ( a bit drmatic I know but some days that's what I feel like!

Thnak you. Yes, you should give Stargate Atlantis a go too. Stargate SG1 ran for I think 10 seasons and Atlantis for at least 5 maybe 6 seasons. They have Stargate Universe too but I am not liking that one even half as much.
