Hello, hello~!It's good to be back here and draw again. I also hope I can catch up with all my notifications soon now that I'm feeling better.
I couldn't resist drawing a moment that was both beautiful and sad, Twelve's regeneration scene from the episode 'Twice Upon a Time' from Doctor Who. After all the pain, losing everyone and everything else that happened to him, the fact that the Doctor was still smiling with hope for a brief moment even as his end drew near hurt my soul in ways I can't even describe. (Peter Capaldi was beyond amazing with his acting as always)
On my previous drawings of him he always had a serious look, so I thought this would be a good choice to capture, his kind smile and soft expression. Also, a mention to the glorious mane Peter had in that episode.
And so, I'm really curious to see the new season of DW this year but Twelve will always be my Doctor.

Me too... still hurts to rewatch his last episodes.
I'm curious to see Jodie as the Doctor but Peter was simply my favorite version in the new DW so far. (Jon Pertwee being my favorite classic Doctor might be somehow related though, haha)

I have sadly only seen the new DW But so far I have loved everything I have seen from the show. I started Mid season or so before David Tennant took over.

Aaah this is so beautifully done.
His expression is so warm yet bittersweet; definitely as you described. And I gotta agree with MEQuick that the shirt detail, (especially that lil' button wow) is so intricate and lovely.

Ah, Twelve could look grumpy sometimes but he was truly kind and that's what I tried to show in this portrait. :3
The button was a fun challenge, I don't know why I like drawing little details so much, haha. XD
Oh, and it's good to see everyone here and all new works too~

Haha, sometimes tiny things are just fun to draw.~ Details may be small, but at least they can be pretty quick to finish (sometimes...lol).

Such beautiful work!! I love his soft smile, like you captured him in a moment when he let down his guard, and had to let a smile out. You did a really great job drawing him, and the moment you chose to draw just makes it all the more precious. Really awesome job with all of the details in his face and the subtle wrinkles from his smile, and all of the detail on his shirt. Like his shirt looks like it's super small and the button even SMALLER but the subtle variations in shadow and highlights in the folds and OHMYGOD that button look amazing!!

His smile was really striking in that scene, it had this nice balance of sadness and joy so I'm happy to hear I managed to capture the emotion of that moment!! Also, I really wanted to draw Peter with a smile after all the tears of watching his last episode in the series. XD
The shirt and the button were fun to draw too, even with the challenge of the tiny details the shading was simpler than the rest of the drawing. (oh the insanity of that hair, haha) And again, thank you!!

I love how you've captured Peter in so many different emotions, you could probably set up something like those shirts that have pictures of people facially emoting haha XD It's interesting to hear that the teeny details were easier to shade than the rest of the drawing, but I guess it's a really small area to cover and work with too so it works out XD
