I thought I was going to have a few peaceful days to finish some of my new drawings last month but Murphy's Law came back with a vengeance and now I'm currently hoarding things to study and unfinished works.So in the meantime I thought it would be interesting to post this drawing, here we have my first attempt at using a ballpoint pen.
I'm sure it has flaws but I liked working on this drawing, I was really afraid of messing the whole thing at every line (pretty accurate depiction of my reaction everytime I made a mistake but couldn't use an eraser: ) but I actually learned a lot with it, and looking at it now almost 5 years later I think made some progress!
The reference was an image of a wolf I had on my old computer, and this time I didn't forget the whiskers. XD

I like drawing fur with a pen, it's easier to add different layers of shading.

I think it's the blue color that gave this shiny look, I edited the drawing on Gimp as a test to see how it would look in black and white but the result was strangely flat when compared to this one. XD But the eyes were my favorite feature too, I liked the stern expression of this wolf. ^^

Wolf fur has this fluffy but rough look to it and trying to draw that texture with the pen was surprisingly easier than using a pencil. Though my shading at the time was not very smooth and the poor wolf may look a bit more disheveled than the original reference. XD

Wow this is so pretty!!! Being a wolf lover I adore this ten times more than usual, but this really is great. I can really see the aspect of lighting on the fur. Really well done.

I really like wolves too (but it's hard to choose a favorite animal, I like way too many XD), they have this proud and imposing nature and they are beautiful creatures. This was my first experiment with a pen and I tried to understand how to add lightning without the eraser, so it has few messy lines but my favorite part was drawing the wolf's eyes.
