I've watched this movie a small amounts of time, but the first time I saw it, I was barely five, and it creeped the hell out of me! I wasn't able to sleep much after watching just half of it, creeping out to the sight of my dolls and kicking walls just to make sure they wouldn't be hiding a tiny secret door. I finally watched it complete last year, and I realize it wasn't so terrible, but it did gave me some terrible nightmares.
So yeah, this is why, but I still think Coraline and Weyborne (I don't know how to write his name) are cannon, TOTALLY CANNON

oh that's why! So sorry, it was such a traumatic experience...I can understand because it creeped me out too, but in a less traumatic way because I was around 15 years old and I was able to appreciate all the good things it brings

yeah, it sounds kind of stupid to me when I think about my fear to this movie, but I can handle it, as long as I have someone with me if I watch the movie
