I finally managed to take pictures of my Unicorn Lady I’ve actually finished this last month but I was so busy with work that I couldn’t find a moment to take pictures (and the ones I took, as you can see, are rather bad XD ).
I’ll be attending for the first time Italy’s loveliest fantasy con, Unicorn Fair, and decided that I could do with a Unicorn-inspired costume As the Fair is going to take place in Vinci (Leonardo Da Vinci’s hometown) which is one of the warmest places in Italy and I totally didn’t have too much time to work on a new design, I decided to revamp my Sister Evelyn dress:

And turn it into a fantasy-ish one
As the main color of the bodice is liliac, I added a tulle overskirt in the same colour cut in full circle and mostly gathered at the back to give the impression of a tail. The train is actually pretty long and I’m a bit afraid it won’t be too comfy to walk in, but we’ll see
For the bodice, I glued crystals in fuxia, salmon pink and multicolor and paillettes in violet on the flower pattern of the lace to give sparkle to the ensamble; added small ruffled tulle sleeves in three different lengths and three strings of crystals in clear and multicolor on each arm
My favourite part, anyway, are the small wings I embroidered for the back of the corset I used Urban Threads’ painted wings embroidery design ( www.urbanthreads.com ) and stitched them of felt, this way they are sturdy enough to keep their shape but still move freely while I walk the sensible thing to do would have been stitching two sets of them and then stitch each wing together with it’s counterpart as to have front/back view, but since I’m lazy and you actually can’t see the back I stuck with only one side XD
I’m the worst, I know.
I made the necklace completely with genuine Swarovsky elements, they sparkle like crazy!!!! All the elements were courtesy of Mercerie Servadei in Trieste ( http://it-it.facebook.com/mercerie.servadei )
The crystal belt is made with second choice crystals I found at the market, they're no Swarovsky but they still sparle XD The belt is sort of necessary to cover the paint stains on the skirt...I kept on trying but there's no way to remove them
