I still do, but it is not a fulltime thing, of course.

I actually don't know 0.o
He looked clammy and was sweating.
His tour included the American healthcare system that we are so proud of. I can tell you for a FACT that he most likely had to wait over twelve hours in the emergency room at the hospital where they probably took him.

And I thought the US was perfect about this sort of stuff. Hard to believe they actually could do that.

Healthcare in America is about money. For example, just the ride to the hospital in the ambulance is going to cost him $800USD. Health insurance doesn't cover anything 100% (some not anywhere close to that), so even if you have it, you can still be dishing out a pretty penny to medical billing companies after a health crisis. Out of pocket.
To top it off, Doctors often go to locations in the country where they get paid more, my geographic location tends to be poorer than other areas of the country by comparison, so there's a bit of a hospital shortage-hence the overloaded emergency room with it's excessive wait times. There's other factors too, but we could go on all day. If anything I'd recommend watching the documentary "SiCKO" for another look at the situation, but the general rule in America is don't get sick.

It's everywhere about money to some extent, but I thought it's more about what quality service you get. 800? Uh, and if they find some homeless dude in the street bleeding to death in need of aid and it's obvious he doesn't have a cent, then what will they do?
Uh. I come from a 3rd world country but so far I've managed to have a doc come visit at home whenever I had a fever of 38... not to mention anything more serious. And for free, too.

Well, here's a brief article and discussion on that topic.:

There are also private hospitals. If you end up going to one of those, they will show you no mercy and turn your account over to bill collectors. Also there a ways of denying care without "denying" it. For example, private hospitals often have their own health insurance plans. If you show up there with a health plan they don't accept, they'll look at you very strangely and either direct you to another hospital that does accept it, or they'll treat you and expect you to cough up the money for the bill.

Well looks like at least they wouldn't let people die out there, thanks for that.
Well I've been trying to avoid all those private hospitals all my life, but from what I heard it will be the same in any country if you end up in one.
