Description Attention Reader!  This does not have to do with the series of Papa!America that I'm currently writing!  It just happened that two people requested the same thing...you may precede...

America pulled into the parking space at the World Conference Center. He was running a little late today; for he had his daughter (f/n) with him. Her babysitter was sick and he was forced to bring her. She was his capital after all so she knew that everyone would be a country, city, or town inside the meeting.

Not that he didn't love to bring his little girl with him, it was just he never had too.  And her being Washington DC, she wasn't a state or even part of one, she was a district. A seat of government was her main function.  It was one of those weird happenings where there wasn't anyone that could raise or take care of her but him.

For a five year old, she was very quiet. She didn't fuss about anything so she only nodded when she was informed she would be accompanying her father to the meeting. (f/n) had never been to the meeting before, so this would be an adventure.  At least America hoped it would be for her.

The American or more commonly called Alfred turned down the radio in his car that currently was blaring out some Lynyrd Skynyrd at an uncomfortable volume.   Looking in the rearview mirror he watched his little girl sigh, looking indifferent to even be coming to a World Meeting with her father.  But she would never say a word on how she felt about it.

She had already asked if one of the other states could watch her, but her father told her it was much too late to ask any of them.  And plus they had their own capitals to watch and take care of.  Hence the problems of where she fell about being raised.

America pushed the door open to his car and let out a deep sigh also.  They had that much in common.  Opening the backdoor to the car he leaned in picking her off the backseat.  She nuzzled her face into his neck.  Truth be told she never felt safer in anyone else arms like she did in her father's; after all he was the hero.

"Maybe Arthur brought London or Manchester," America gave a reinsuring pat on her back, complete with a brilliant pearly white smile. "He did the last time."  They walked through the overly filled parking garage towards the elevators.  Apparently everyone was already inside.

Those were the last two cities she wanted to see.  They were mean and nasty to her at times and she didn't know why.   London had been snotty to her ever since the Olympics last year.  Manchester had also gained an attitude when he got twelfth in the best places to do business in Europe.

He pushed the button for the elevator and tapped his foot.  Maybe it wouldn't be that bad.  Meeting some of the older nations might give his little one an even stronger backbone.  She already knew a few of them as her uncles and aunts, but a few she had never had the pleasure of meeting.

"Hello Америка," Russia or Ivan stood next him.

The American drew in a sharp breath as he glanced over at the man standing next to him.    That one nation America didn't want to see.

"Hey," America grunted, holding his little capital closer.  Why did the stupid elevator have to go so dang slow?  And he'd be sharing it with Russia of all people, just great.

(f/n) peeked her head up and looked to the Russian that had a big grin on his face.   Remembering what her dad had said about him all came flooding back to her memory.  He had come over to their house a few times with his boss.  But that had been awhile ago.  And he had a few little cities and a capital too that were around her age.  Maybe a little older if she remembered correctly.

Finally the door opened, time for some more awkward moments to come.  In stepped the two nations and one petite capital.  For some reason she couldn't look away from this tall blond man.  He didn't seem overly scary, but then again it took a lot to shake this child.

"Who is the little sunflower?"  He asked, pushing the button to the fourth floor.  This would be the longest three minutes of America's life; he just knew it!  And it would have to be the Russian also running late of all people to bump into.

"This is D.C.," his words were flat.  The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife.  (f/n) noticed it, replacing her face back into warmth of her father's neck.

"Ahh…this is your capital, da?"  The blonde's lavender eyes lit up even more.  "You've never bought her before."

"That's for sure," the sandy blond mumbled, "didn't want everyone and their creepy brother freaking her out."

Ivan either ignored his comment or didn't hear it.  "She is cute.  Thou she doesn't say much.   My Moscow is very vivacious."

That little terror would tear up the meeting room if Ivan brought him.  So maybe 'vivacious' wasn't the word he was looking for.

"That's great," Alfred smiled when he saw the number four lit up indicating they were finally there.

"If I had known you were bringing her," Ivan pointed the small person that still hung to Alfred, "I would have bought Moscow or maybe Saint Petersburg."

The door opened slowly, Alfred bolted out still clutching on to his daughter.  And so started the adventure of this tiny capital and world affairs…

Alfred kneed in front of (f/n) and placed his hand on her shoulder.  Giving a smile to her let her know there was no need to be shy towards these other nations.   But in (f/n)'s mind it would take more than a smile and few comforting words.

"Go off and have fun," Alfred shooed her away.  You've got to let the baby bird fly away from the nest at some point. "And come find me when they serve lunch, baby girl."

What was the worse that could really happen?

"Okay Daddy," she gave her best smile and started off towards a small group of nations that towered above her.   Starting off with the safest bet of all the groups to pick from; England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland.

"Sod off wankers," England or Arthur hissed at his older brothers.

"Hello Uncle Arthur," the sheepish voice of (f/n) said, pulling on her Uncle's tweed pant leg.

He drew back a little and noticed it was none other than his niece Washington D.C. standing in front of him.  His cheeks dusted a pink color a bit at the words he had used in front of her.

"Good morning (f/n)," Arthur cleared his throat; "London and Manchester are around here."

That's just great…

"Well 'ello wee lass," Scotland ruffled her (h/c) locks.  "And how have we been?"

"Good Uncle Allistor," she looked down at her shoes as if they were the most important thing at life at that moment.  "Daddy had to bring me along today.  My babysitter was sick and nobody else could watch me."

"He should bring you more," Arthur interjected.  "Otherwise you'll never know about world affairs.  Take my little ones for instance, they know all about policies."

"Come off it," Northern Ireland or Riley rolled his eyes.  "If you look 'round (f/n), you'll find some of the lil' ones 'round.  Belfast should be causing trouble somewhere."

"And I bought that lil' brat Dublin," Ireland or Ian said looking around; "Ol' Waterford said she couldn't watch my heathen."

Allistor and Arthur continued to bicker to each other.

"Don't talk to me like that," Arthur growled, "I am not a child…"

"Then don't act like one," Allistor cut him off.

"Best go find 'em," Ian patted her head, "this is 'bout to get ugly."

That was (f/n)'s cue to leave.  When the five got into an argument that was boiling, it was better to let them have at it.  And not to be in the way.

"C'est que mon petite ange?"   Asked the person that grabbed a hold of her and spun her around it the air.   All she could see was the waving flowing locks of gold. "I miss when my petits bébés were this age."  The Frenchman pouted.  "And what does your papa have you wearing?"  He held her out and under the arms.  He treated her like a little rag doll.  "You should be in frills and bows!"

"No," she voiced a small protest to the idea of wearing some silly frilly pink monstrosity that he forced Paris or Cannon into at times.  He placed the child on his knee and began his story telling.

"Do you know you have a rich French heritage?"  She didn't have a moment to answer as the Frenchman started to explain Pierre Charles L'Enfant had made the plans for this grand city and then ended up getting a raw deal.  She knew these facts of course, it was her history after all.

"Francis!"  Spain and Prussia rushed the Frenchman and started to talk him up about something.  Slipping away for his grasp she hurried the other side of the room.  She needed to find safety from these crazy and loud countries.

"Hey," a little boy with slicked back brown haired grinned at her, "aren't you Washington D.C.?  I'm Sydney!"  He stuck his hand out and waited for her to take it.  She did, but with some hesitation.  "Australia's most popular city."  Sydney gave a wink to the girl that nodded and looked down.

He was a charmer; there was no doubt to that.   His smile reminded her of her father's and similar facial features to Arthur.   But that would make sense of course, he was a British Colony around the same time she was becoming a capitol.

The little city was very enticed with the (h/c) haired girl that shyly looked away from him.

"Oxford, Nova Scotia," a girl around her age giggled that stood next to him.   "I came here with my daddy… ummm….Canada!"  Her dark blond hair bounced as she nodded her head.  "But you can just call me Oxy."

"Hey cousin!"   She was tackled to the ground by two little Irish boys the grinned wide at her.  "We missed you!"  Their dark green eyes sparkling.

"I missed you too," she sighed and picked herself off the ground.  "How have you been Dublin and Belfast?"

"You know," Belfast shrugged his shoulders, causing his dark auburn hair to fall forward into his eyes.  He pushed it back again with a freckled hand.

"Dublin!"  Ian shouted across the room.  "You better have not stolen me smokes!"  The five children looked over to the Irishman that desperately fiddling threw his coat pocket.

"I didn't Dad!"  The little eight year old shouted back and crinkled his nose that was dusted with dark brown freckles.  "I really did." He snickered to the other's that stood in their little group.  He pulled the pack from his pocket just to confirm that he in fact had his father's precious smokes.

"You smoke?"  (f/n) asked.

"No," he laughed, "I just like to make me Dad madder than a sheered sheep in winter."

"That's so immature," the dark blond known as London said coming into the group.  She was the oldest at eleven and Manchester followed close to her.

"Whatever London," Dublin rolled his eyes, "leave my brother be."

"Oh Manny!"  Over bond a wavy blond haired girl around nine.

"Should we play a game?"  London asked and crossed her arms.  "Since it's just us few today?"

"Oui," the blond girl brushed her hair back, "we should play seven minutes in heaven, Manny!  Just you and moi!"  She grinned, hanging on tight to Manchester, who looked pained to have the extra appendage.

"I said to let me go, Nice!"  The little English lad pushed the French girl off him.  "You twit!"

"Why do you have to be so mean?"  Nice squealed, placing her hand on her forehead, pretending to faint.  "I'm telling mon Pére!"

"First," Sydney waved his hand at the others, "we've got to save Niesky!"  He would impress (f/n) with his hero like abilities.  This Yankee girl was as good as his.

They looked over to the girl that sat with her hands firmly on the table next her father Germany.

"He's kind of scary mes amis."  Nice hooked herself back on Manchester whole slumped his arms in defeat.

"Yeah," Oxy nodded too, "but she would come save us if we needed her too!"

"Why don't we just walk up to Mr. Germany and ask if she come play with us?"  (f/n) finally spoke up.

"What?"  Belfast and Dublin looked at each other as if it had never occurred to them.

London scoffed and rolled her big jade eyes.  "You can't just walk up to him and…"

They watch this brave little girl push past the other nations, weaving between their legs and over to the German that sat listening to his friend Italy go on about something.  He nodded and rested his head in his hand looking overly pained to still be sitting there.  Checking his watch he counted the minutes until the meeting was going to start.

"Excuse me, Mr. Germany?"  (f/n) tapped his arm to gain his attention.

"Hallo," he gave a small smile to the girl that spoke to him, "vhat can I do for you D.C.?"

"The other towns and capitals were wondering if Niesky can come play a game with us during the meeting."

"Of course," he nodded, "go on you two."  He shooed the two away.  He pushed his chair out and cleared his throat to gain the attention of the room.  His voice boomed loudly. "Let's get this meeting underway!"

"You rescued me!"  The ten year old grinned.  "I didn't think I'd be able to get away from Italy and mein Vati."

"I wouldn't call it a rescue," (f/n) muttered and they made their way back to small U.N that they made.

"That had to be the bravest thing I've ever seen a Shelia do before!"   The short Australian smirked.  "You're kind of like your Dad, the hero!"  Consider the peace treaty signed and stamped!  He was in love!

(f/n) looked down at the ground.  Her Dad was a hero, not her.

"We've decided to play mini world meeting!"  London proudly stated and drew the attention away from (f/n).  "And because this is (f/n)'s first time playing this game with us, I'll explain the rules."

"Then will take partners in the game!"  Belfast took a hold of his brother's arm.  "It's me and Dublin."

"No!" London waved her hand in the air to keep the Irish boys quiet.  "We don't have partners in this game!" She huffed and turned to the wide eyed U.S capital.  "We fight!"

"Fight?  Like punching and stuff?"  (f/n) certainly didn't want to play this game then.

"No, we just argue and bring up each others embarrassing moments.  That's what our dads, moms, uncles, and aunts do at these meetings."  Manchester said.  "That's why they come here!"

"And whoever doesn't cry wins!"  London seemed overly confident at this certain game.  "But Manny and Nice have to sit next to each other!"

"Are you kidding me!?"  Manchester grimaced.

"It is meant to be mon amour!"  Nice clung even tighter to the boy and snuggled her face into his arm.  "I can't wait till we're married!"

"I really do hate you, London."  The flaxen haired boy pouted.

"And it would be my pleasure to help you with this little game we'll play, (f/n)."  Sydney grinned and held his hand out.  "If you would take my hand my lovely Capital."

"How romantic!"  Nice cooed at the scene.  "Why don't you ever say things like that to me, Manny?"  She questioned the stunned boy.

"Because…" he was cut off by the French girl.

"You like to pay hard to get!"  She corrected whatever he was going to say, which wasn't that.

"Let's just find an empty meeting room!"  Niesky finally found her father's voice.  "And then we can bring up all the past humiliation that you've tried to bury!"

Kinda sounds like Prussia….

~Meanwhile in the meeting room~

"Has anyone seen D.C.?"  Alfred asked the Englishman that stood next to him.  He started to load the plate up with anything that looked tasty, which was everything.

"I think she was playing with London and the other ones."  Arthur looked around the room.

"Washington!"  Alfred called, almost panicked that he didn't see his little capital anywhere to be found.  He knew shouldn't have let her out of his sight.

"It's fine," Arthur tsked, "they're probably off playing somewhere.  It's not like one of the little ones are going to try to claim her as their own."

Alfred wondered how the Englishman could be so calm.

"I'm just going to find her," Alfred sat his plate down. Arthur tilted his head to the side and raised an eyebrow to almost scold the man for not letting his little one spread her wings.  "Don't give me that look!"  Alfred chuckled and though of a quick lie.  "She's hungry."

He wondered what kind of man he was to make his daughter fraternize with the other capitals, towns, and cities.  Maybe she wasn't ready. Leaving his little capital of Washington D.C. out there to defend herself against those beasts.

He opened the meeting room door and looked into the empty hallway.  He sighed and started down the hallway when he finally heard the notable sound of laughter.

"Great," he grunted, "one of them little…" he tossed the door open to the spare meeting room to the nine little wards sitting around the meeting table.  "Washington D.C.?"  He asked dumbfounded.  The usual quiet little tike was laughing with the other eight.

"Daddy!"  She smiled from the table and dashed over to him.  "Is it lunchtime?"

"Un huh," he nodded and scoped her up in his arms, "what are you guys doing in here?"

"Hi Uncle Alfie!"  Manchester walked up to the American, the little blond French girl still clung to him.  "Did you come find us for lunch?"

"Sure did," he gave the perfect hero smile. "Are you having fun?"  He felt a little more at ease that his little one was fitting into this group.

"Yup!"  She smiled from her post in her father's arm.

"Excuse me Mr. America!"  Sydney ran in front of the bewildered country.    He placed his hands on hips and puffed out his chest trying to look as powerful as a little lad of seven could.

"Yes, Syd?"  America stepped around his and walked back into the meeting room.

"He can't do that to me," Sydney mumbled to Belfast and Dublin who snickered.

Each of the towns, cities, and capitals went to their respective countries.

Now this 'most popular city' had an idea to gain the American's attention to ask his question.  He crawled to the top of the meeting table that was free and cleared his throat.

"Listen up!"  He shouted into the group.

"Sydney!" Australia or Kyle yelled from across the room.  "Do you have a few kangaroos loose in the top paddock?  You better get your butt over here!"

"Hold up Dad!"  He looked across the room and smiled at the other nations that look at him.  "Mr. America, I want to strengthen my and D.C.'s trade policies."

"She doesn't trade," Alfred turned from making a lunch plate for his daughter.

"Sydney!"  Australia groaned and rolled his eyes.  "You can't make that kind of call!  You're my bloody ward!"

"What I mean is I wanna marry your capital!"  Sydney gave a look that would have put a peacock to shame.

Alfred glared at Arthur who looked overly confused.  The American suddenly felt very lightheaded.

"I didn't know the little git was going to do that!"  Arthur tossed his hands in the air.

"How romantic!"  Francis and Nice said in unison and sighed.

"Daddy?"  (f/n) stood above her father who laid out cold on the meeting room floor.  "Are you okay?"

"No," America didn't want to open his eyes.  "This isn't what I meant by world affairs…"

"We can have a double wedding!"  Nice grinned at Manchester.

"Daddy!"  Manchester whined.

"Get off me, Francis!"  Arthur pushed the Frenchman away.  "Boyo, I've got my own problems!"

As the world turns…
