Description Sorry if the formatting is sloppy, it's been years sine I last did one of these.

This tutorial was created to help people with setting up basic level eye poseing.
And yes, it's intended to help with setting up eye poseing for SFM too.

Well I followed this tutorial, and the eyes don't move at all no matter what in HLMV. What did I do wrong?

Hard to tell without details or the model in question.

So i've followed your tutorial, and i get oval pupils without the clamps and clampt on the eyes and pupils (not the material file), and no pupils with clamps and clampt on. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I can't check using the HLMV because the textures don't load

first, can you rephrase that? Also in the tutorial I make no mention of clamps.

Second, in order for me to figure out what's wrong, I'm going to need to see your model.

I think i figured that it's a model issue. I got the eyes working on a different model just fine, but they won't work on a model i ported. I had it kinda working before, but now it's just the eye texture loadingΒ hostthenpost.org/uploads/db724…

So there's no download link yet for this NiGHTS model?

Unfortunately, not yet. the model is a collaboration with Bearded Doom guy

Ah okay thanks, because the other model in the SFM Workshop is horrible.

And how RTB is taking like 4 years just to finish his NiGHTS pack.

to be honest, I originally thought we'd be done with NiGHTS by now.

Lol, well then. I'm not gonna force you if you want to release it though, I'll be patient...

Just to be sure the iris and eyeball have to be different textures right?Β  It can't be the same.

could i get a hand?
default setting:

move the eye updown flex in the up direction by .1:
gyazo.com/c7e802a0e798fcf2c12a…
i feel like it might have something to do with the fact that his eyes are on the sides of his head rather than upfront, but i could be wrong.
here's the eyes portion of my qc:

mouth 0 "mouth" "HeadN" 0 1 0 Β  Β  // mouth illumination

what program do you use for making or editing 3d models?
And how small is your model?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

DrLilRobot In reply to Glaber [2015-05-10 16:03:20 +0000 UTC]

i use 3DS Max. although, i've ironed out exactly what the problem was with the eyes moving long distances with short integers. for reference, the model has to be scaled up x4 to be proportional with the characters in the source engine.
my new problem is the eyes are tilted in-game, so they don't exactly look like the desired outcome. because of mewtwo's "special eyes", the pupil also moves on a directly horizontal line when it needs to move diagonally.
