What plotholes and ruined continuity You mean?Β
The only plothole I see in this episode is that nopony noticed other "Cadance's" magical aura... and maybe invasion but this could be explained.Β
Such thing like revealing herself to Twilight by sending her to cave... its rather just Chrysalis stupidity, not plothole.
And like someone wrote - Chrysalis defeated by power of love is like Discord defeated by power of chaos. Well actually she eats love so its like... being defeated by food

Changeling/Chrysalis-Lost to the power of love
What changeling are- A type of shape shifting pony the feeds off of love.

The thing is, love is what give changeling's power, so you can see why it would be an embarrassment for them to get defeated by it. Celestia, however, has her badass magic that she was born with.

Would it? I realize it is embarrassing for Chrysalis to scoff off at the power of love of the C and A, seeing as she knew how much power love can provide. But to be defeated by something that you know is powerful from experience? There is no embarasement in that.
Celestia origin is still not fully explained. She had to steal elements of the tree in order to fight Discord. And seeing as there are the empty images of both moon and sun on the tree of harmony, you'll have to excuse me if I don't believe that she was born with her magic. Or even an alicorn.
And then we have the four villains. Nightmare moon has been shown to be more powerful then Celestia,Discord is the ultimate powerhouse in the Equis world. Chrysalis is a living power battery and given enough power could blast even Discord to kingdom come. And it took the combined powers of both Celestia and Luna to defeat Sombra. And the last one was just a freaking mortal unicorn at the time. It took two Alicorns to defeat one unicorn! Celestia is nether badass nor is her magic. She's a freaking wimp among immortals.

I'm going to ignore your comment concerning Celestia, (because my comment is more true than yours) and say that it's like having an army with undying loyalty and you're conquering the world when all of a sudden you're army's like, nah, let's rebel, and then they're all bent on killing you.

There's a difference between an army and the weapon. And love is most certainly a weapon. Weapon's don't have allegiance.
As for my comment in regards to Celestia. It's backed by cannon facts.
NM in season 4 flashback episode was shown to be more powerful then Celestia.
Β Royal sisters needed a huge extra boost in the form of elements of harmony which they nicked from the tree to defeat Discord.
Chrysalis has shown us that with enough love to weaponize she can blast Celestia into orbit.
And two Alicorns were fighting mortal Sombra and later on Cadance needed the Chrystal heart to defeat him when previously she was failing to even protect an empire from him. Shining was steamrollered over in the first sortie.
There is no truth in your comment. Only your own feelings for Celestia, while mine are backed by cold logic based on current info we have.
