These are at the bottom of the tower on the American side and near the same place you board the Maid of the Mist. There are steps on the other side near the Bridal Veil Falls called the Cave of the Winds. Next time I visit, I'd like to do the Canadian side Journey Behind the Falls. It looks awesome.

ahh I see Me and my husb. were down at the Cave of the winds, a really cool thing to do We´ve not been do the Canadian side But there is a place on the American side called "Whirlpool Park" downstream just a few minutes away from the Falls, my ID picture is taken there

I think it is so great that you can get so close to the falls just from the overlooks and also from the walkways at the bottom.
